I recently had to buy a new copy of ACNL, and gamestop was having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on their used games, so I decided to also get a copy of Fantasy Life for the 3ds, a game I had never heard of before.

I spent a good hour or so playing it the other day when I was trapped at my mom's house with nothing to do, but haven't really felt like playing it again.

Is it worth it to keep playing? Like, does it get any better? So far, I rescued a butterfly and became a fisherman, but that's it so far. It wasn't the most fun, but it was about $40 used, so I figured it had to be a good game (a bad use of logic, I know... lol).

I'm level 200
Creator in all
All my skills are 20
I have everything from the statues
I have everything from the lunares coin shop
I have all the houses in the game
I have soloed the trial of time, darkness, and light

And I have so about 1,000 sprayelixirs so don't worry about healing

I used to play it, but I never got to pick it up again after putting the game down to make way for other 3DS games. I don't have the Origin Island DLC yet, and I think I'm not even done with the main story because I'm trying to grind my level and increase my rankings in Miner, Paladin, Woodcutter, Carpenter, and Blacksmith lives.

It's a nice game, the story is a bit predictable (for me, that is) but that doesn't detract the fun experience of the game, and I love the visuals. You should try different classes!

how'd you get stuck in your mom's house? wh?

but anyway fantasy life is a good game, one of my fav ds games mainly bc i love harvest moon and it's kinda close to it?? its a bit confusing at first but it does get better, depending what life you choose i guess. i started with combat life to start and progress with the story with no problem. the map is pretty big and the graphics is just really pretty. npcs talk a lot but it lets you get to know them. also really love the multiplayer in this one, it's very similar to acnl ^^

Well, I've spent +500 hours just in my first file, so... yes, I would say I played it quite a lot :D

i have not play it yet. thinking of getting it in the near future but im not sure if the online community is partially or not.

I guess I could say I had the same experience you did. It took me about 2-4 hours to really get into the game on my paladin.

This is definitely one of those games where they face you with beginner stuff before you get to the fun stuff.

Reason I bought it is because there were so many positive opinions and ratings about this game everywhere. Not really a solid reason to buy a game either, in my opinion, haha...

i love the game but the story is a bit crap, it's very text heavy but i spent hours doing different lives and completing side quests, it's a lot of fun! i agree with bassy though, i think you need a couple of hours before you can really appreciate it, it can feel a bit slow sometimes.

oh also i feel i should point out there's a general thread here you can check out. might wanna be wary of spoilers though

Thanks everyone for your replies... you all encouraged me to get back on the game, and keep pushing until I get to the good stuff. I am liking it more and more, but I think I need to keep going, I'm only about 2 hours in now.

A lot of people seem to enjoy the Paladin life, but I'm really living for being an angler, and I think I'll like the cooking life too.

Wow!! Thanks a lot for the offer!! I will have to take you up on there. Right now, I don't have DLC, but once I get further into the story, I would like to get it! And then maybe we can play together or do whatever :) thanks again

I got stuck because I was helping my mom cook for Thanksgiving, and there was a lot of downtime.... I was just laying the drama on thick with that "being stuck" stuff... but that's just literally what I do haha

That's good advice.. I'm only in about 2 hours or so, so I guess I should keep plugging away with it

Yeah, it is super text heavy and I think that might be a part of my issues with it... it's hard for me to sit there for several hours and read and read and read and read and read and read.... :0 I like the actually *doing* of the game if that makes sense lol

I love the game so much! Part of the reason may be that I've never really played an RPG with a story I've liked, and this one satisfied all I needed. The story is a bit heavy, but I find it intriguing.

You really can't enjoy the game if you don't like the story though...

If you want/need help, you can ask me :) Or anyone, since I noticed there are people here also playing this game even if it's an Animal Crossing forum.
