Anyone Else Have a Starter Villager that Just Won't Move Out?

I've had Katt as one of my original two starter villagers since I started in April but she hasn't asked to move at any point. I like Katt but I'm not a fan of the basic houses the original villagers have and would love the opportunity to look for a new villager. I can't figure out why some villagers have asked 2-3 times but she has never asked.

I don't time travel (nothing against it, just not my jam!) and nothing I try to do to get her to move works. I've tried everything (talking to her, ignoring her, not giving gifts, etc.).

Anyone else have this same issue?

I've had Katt since day one too, and she's asked to move. I can't let her, though - she's just too damn cool!

Weirdly though, Joey asked me about moving today and I was struck by the fact that he's never asked me until now, and he was my third villager. Then it got me thinking and I realised that my other starting villager, Dom, has never asked, either.

I'm pretty sure all the rest of my villagers barring the tenth move-in, Octavian, have asked at some point.

Tammy wouldn't move out for awhile for me, though eventually she did. And I still have Merry... but that's because I don't want her to move out, even though she's asked multiple times I actually PREFER her basic house to her normal version.

Honestly, even though I've seen SO much advice for how to get them to move, I've tried it all at various times... and nothing seems to work. I think it really is random. You just gotta be patient, and prepared to throw some confetti when they FINALLY do move (ohmygosh I was ready to throw a parade when Tammy said she was leaving )

Thats interesting then! I know most people I know have been able to cycle through their starter villagers by now! I had my other starter ask to move early on, I wonder if one starter really just likes to hang on, haha!

Do you know my friend had a hard time moving out Tammy too? She just would not go, haha! I'm just going to wait it out or maybe get an amiibo of another villager I like and do it that way. After several months, though, I'm losing patience!

On the other hand, Megan, one of my first villagers I think was also one of the first to move out. In fact, she may've been the VERY first. Sometimes I forget I even had her, because I had her for such a short time.

To be honest, I was utterly indifferent to her, and really did not care at all when she moved. There are a ton of normal villagers that are super adorable, and she was just... okay.

I know what you mean about the starter houses being annoying, though - I daren't look to see what their 'real' houses look like in case it makes me want to boot them out! My three year old son would never forgive me!

I'm just clinging onto the hope that at some point we get the ability to decorate our villagers' houses in an update. That would solve so many issues in one fell swoop!

Right? I need to upgrade some of their houses! Merengue's house is a basic house and I was so sad to see what it was really supposed to look like! I've been gifting the basic house villagers with some items that appear in their real house to kind of improve them a bit. It helps a lot!

Ozzie was my starter lazy. He has seen many, many villagers come and go but has never asked to leave nor has he given me a photo. I'm slightly concerned that he is the only villager I haven't gotten a photo from despite being around the longest, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think either of my starters, Fuchsia or Coach, have asked to move.
I love both of them, but now that I have their pictures I'm okay with them moving out.

How's your friendship with her? I recommend giving her gifts even if she won't showcase them in her house. Talk to her like if she was your favorite villager.

I've tried to gift her nice things in the past but it really didn't help! I'll try giving her something good everyday and see where that gets me!

PHOEBE!! GTFO OF MY TOWN!!!!! I HATE YOU!!! I give her trash, hit her with a net (my husband REALLY goes to town on her with the net, making her pop off steam, lol) BUT SHE WON'T LEAVE!!!!! I even talked to Isabelle about her, but that doesn't seem to do jack squat.
