Pretty sure there's a similar topic going somewhere but ehh.

There are some manga/anime that aren't as popular as some manga/anime but they managed to snatch some fans(and some of them may be quite popular in Japan), or some manga/anime that's just unknown both in Japan and the East. What's your favorite anime/manga among those?

Currently I'm obsessed with this manga, it's quite old but I think it's refreshing and pretty funny. This manga also have the anime version too(split on 3 seasons).

So very many... but if I have to mention one it would be Uchouten Kazoku (my favorite anime of all time)

My two favorites are pretty unpopular: Mushi-shi and Kemono no sou-ja Erin.
I've seen some even more unpopulars but none come to mind right now, I haven't properly watched anime or read manga in a loooong time.

there's many but one of them is definitely dawn of the arcana. it's such a good shoujo manga.

Breathe Deeply. If you heard about this I salute you.

Also Tropical Citron, Sakuran, Uncivilized Planet are great works.

i think it depends on where you are/the people you know? i've been in a lot of anime based social circles for 10+ years and hardly anyone i've met has read alive. :c

eh i think according to MAL its pretty popular
and if it was anime based i can see why they wouldnt know about it unless they read manga too

looking at my manga list i like
-cheese in the trap (not really a manga tho)
-pink lady
-witch hunter
-orange marmalade?
idk 3 of the 4 are webtoons and witch hunter is a manhwa but whatever

SOLD OUT! is a good manga. Sadly, it's not that recognized I don't think :(

i meant animanga based, since a lot of people who watch anime also read manga. but it's #635 on mal i hardly consider that popular.

I liked a manga that was discontinued called Mx0. I think it was discontinued in '08 or '09, but I remember liking it because it was really funny.

Anyway, the protagonist gets into a magic school by accidentally stealing a teacher's gold card (a high-ranking magic card that tells one's level of magic as well as status) and was mistaken to have summoned a giant being that destroyed a school building. Rather than being kicked out and having his memories wiped, he was admitted as a new first year student. He already had the reputation of being strong among the students, so he had to hide the fact that he didn't really know magic whilst participating in an all-magic environment. So he had to talk and BS his way through bad situations without using magic, which makes him seem cool to people lol.

...after remembering this manga, I think I'll go back and read it since it's been a while. ^^

Gyo. It's a manga, but there is an anime movie adaptation.

It gets a little gross.

Gyo is awesome.

And yeah I meant the people haven't obviously been to a store that sell books, old or new. It's not exactly the first you'd look up on the webs
