Is there anyway to get more Public Works Projects requests? been talking to my villagers everyday and rarely see requests! I want those lovely japanese theme style :(

You can't get PWP suggestions by talking to villagers on your own. You can only get them when villagers ping you and suggest them.

You can get more pings using the diving trick, but there's no guarantee that they'll have anything to do with PWPs.

What is the diving trick?

You put on your wet suit, go into the water, sit idle for about 5 minutes. Go back to shore and check your villagers. One of them will ping you. I've tested it and it never failed.

oh, and make sure you fill your pockets with flowers and that you don't have more than ~100 bells on you, it'll give them less things to ping you about, making PWP suggestions even more likely. i've done it a ton and it usually works pretty well!
and you can also buy wetsuits on here, there's loads of people who sell them and they're usually only 5-10 tbt. c:

A wetsuit should show up at your island pretty soon. For the diving trick, make sure you're out of sight of land. Going all the way down to the rope border usually works. I dig holes around my villager so they don't move while I'm out waiting. I also try to make sure they're close to the cliff ramp so I don't get pinged by anybody else. I got my last 2 bridge requests this way. Good luck!

Diving trick is boring and very long! Just fish a lot, or do gardening! I always get new pings from watering flowers and fishing

Both have worked for me. I try the wet suit trick and got no results more often than not, but when I'm landscaping for about 15-30 minutes I'll randomly get a ping. Both do work but it seems just doing my thing gardening or fishing works better for me.

It's true, i shouldn't force opinion! It's okay to do if you are busy and not concentrating on acnl but, waiting 5 minutes in the corner of the sea repeatedly stung by jellyfish

I personally have found the diving trick not to work too well with me as well. I have hybrids almost everywhere at this point and can't really trap villagers like I used to. I usually just landscape or stay idle for 5 minutes which does the trick. Be sure to fill up your pockets with flowers and have no money like others said.

I took forever to get bridge PWPs because I put up 3 bridges early on and never got suggestions. Why do bridges even count as your 30 projects since they're necessary? It's so weird how it only applies to bridges. Once I found out about it, I demolished a bridge and boom, got a bridge PWP. I spent months trying to get my cranky villagers to ping me, haha. The agony lmao

Getting PWPs can be so time consuming.

Sometimes, I'll be working on my town planting some trees and organizing things that's messy and for doing that for a while I always get at least 2-3 pings and one of them is a public work project suggestion, I think you gotta give some time in hanging outside of your town for a bit and a random '!' or so will pop up when you pass by, there is about a couple of different '!' it seems and sometimes if you are carrying items that '!' will take place asking to have the item from a villager, but that's from my experience though, good luck!

The diving trick is the most popular way to get more pwp but I rarely get pings when I do it; I get more pings when I'm busy landscaping.
