Animals and their Pictures

So has anyone gotten an animal's picture yet? I haven't even gotten one >_>
Post your journeys on getting their picture and some tips as well. I'm working on Agnes's since she's uchi. Here is one I found:

~Uchi animals are easier to befriend, therefore their pictures are easier to obtain.

I've got Zell's picture three times, and one of Hamphrey. I got the first Zell pic when he visited, then he sent it in the mail to me the next day. The next one, I gave him a piece of furniture and he gave it to me. The last one, he moved away and sent me it in his departing mail. Hamphrey, I just got from him moving away. Me and Rudy have been best buds for as long as I have been with Zell, it's just luck if you get them or not.

Pierce's is my first and only picture.

I wasn't really actively trying to get it, though I was sending him letters far more often than my other villagers (I'd say I sent about one every few days). I also generally talk to him and accept his requests a lot. I just got his picture about an hour ago by returning his lost item. It kinda caught me by surprise, but I'm definitely very happy since he's my favourite in my town.

Due to having 2 towns I TT to Trade Villagers and I've made it to April fools day several times and have gotten several pictures.

Literally just got my first picture. My favorite villager, Moe, just gave me his because he said he was redoing his house and needed something. So, I gave him a lunch tray, and he gave me his picture. Haven't really been doing anything much different with him compared to my other dream villagers. Just giving him fruit when he asks and giving him items for his house.

I got two pictures so far! Surprisingly my first was from Blaire the snooty squirrel and I didn't even think I talked to her that often haha.

I've gotten none so far. :/ I'm trying hard, though, so hopefully my luck will improve.

I got my first picture today! It was from Butch. He's one of my favorite villagers, so I'd always talk to him, send him letters and accept his requests. Today he asked me for new furniture and I gave him a Super Mushroom (from the fortune cookie). In return he gave me his picture!

I have two, Kid Cat and Apple gave me their pictures this week.

I have Kabuki and Zucker.
Kabuki's took a long time, Zucker's took about 3 or 4 days. Maybe because I mailed him a ton of perfect fruit (having heard a rumor that they'd mail back different perfect fruit, but no such luck.)

I was lucky enough to get Beau's picture from a petition only a couple weeks into the game. Ever since then though, I haven't gotten anything. :\

What is the purpose of receiving a picture? Does it mean ultimate friend status? I just received one from my neighbor Amelia the other day and put it up in my house. The only difference I noticed is that she come over to my house at random times (without scheduling) and makes herself at home.

I haven't received any of them. I'm hoping that one day one of them will actually give me one.
