Animals and Relationships

So a short story that just happened and I'm so sorry I lack screenshots right now. I did not expect this at all!

A few days ago, I made the decision to let Snake go in favor of Bunnie, a villager I was debating on along with Flurry, Poppy, and a few others when I decided to let Kitty go. I ultimately chose Flurry, but I decided I wanted Bunnie too, so I went and got her from a very generous person who was nice enough to hold her for me (thank you again!). Upon doing this, I noticed my male to female ratio was now off: I now had 6 ladies and 4 guys.

I had playfully "shipped" my animals, with Lucha and Rosie being a thing, followed by Kid Cat and Ankha, Lobo and Phoebe, and Flurry and Puck. However, my last two villagers, Lolly and Snake, never seemed to really click. With Snake's departure and Lolly not really having someone to connect with, I jokingly brought up the concept of "Lollybun" to my Skype group, and we began shipping Lolly and Bunnie.

This was cute enough on its own, but multiple things have happened to not only SUPPORT Lollybun, but suggest...a LOVE TRIANGLE. (Yes I am reading way too far into this but it's too cute and funny not to share).

Bunnie was just walking around on her first day in Loki. Within 5 conversations, I got this out of her:
Bunnie: "I feel like I can be myself around Lolly. She's definitely a great friend." Of all my animals, Lolly is the first animal Bunnie mentions. Lollybun confirmed, right?

Nope. It seems we have a snag in our glorious plan.

Today Lucha walks up to me saying he should "Give a gift to Bunnie" and tells me he's "too shy to do it himself." I honor my favorite villager's wish and take it to Bunnie, who reveals it is a chocomint tee. She immediately tries it on, says Lucha has a wonderful sense of style, and hands me her Swell shirt (default clothing) to keep.

I return to Lucha, who upon hearing she immediately tried it on responds "I should go see her later..."

Now as if that wasn't hilarious enough...as I walk by Lolly, she pings me and says she's "doing a painting of a swell shirt" and asks to buy mine. She is now WEARING IT. Poor Lolly masked her true intentions for buying BUNNIE'S SHIRT and is now parading around Loki wearing it.

Now I know all of our animals are simply little cutiepies who don't form those types of relationships, but I can't deny that this chain of events has definitely left me not only dying of laughter but awwing in both cuteness and sorrow. With the new LoLuchaBun triangle, and poor Rosie suddenly left in the dust, it makes me wonder how my animals' relationships can pan out now!

So I ask you, my fellow Belltree Bros and Belles~

-Do you ever "ship" your animals?
-Have your animals ever done anything to "prove" said shipping?
-How about your animals shipping others? That's how I decided "Ankhid" was a total thing
-Any other general cute moments suggesting something a bit deeper than simple friendships?

I had Phoebe and Lobo in my first town and I always thought they'd be cute together too!

I also had someone comment to me once how Bluebear and Teddy were best friends, would make a cute couple, etc... right after that, Teddy gave me a present to give to Bluebear. Unbeknownst to any of them, Bluebear had announced her intention to leave that morning, and I'd already sold her and was getting ready to TT her into boxes. D: Sorry Teddy.

I had Phoebe and Lobo in my first town and I always thought they'd be cute together too!

I also had someone comment to me once how Bluebear and Teddy were best friends, would make a cute couple, etc... right after that, Teddy gave me a present to give to Bluebear. Unbeknownst to any of them, Bluebear had announced her intention to leave that morning, and I'd already sold her and was getting ready to TT her into boxes. D: Sorry Teddy.

I actually used to keep villagers from moving if another villager liked them. Agent S stayed for a very long time because she and Lucha were like BFFs, even though Agent S was sorta causing problems. I also kept Bianca 2 pings too long because a few animals liked her, despite my personal hatred of her.

I feel bad for Teddy. They definitely could have been a cute little couple xD

Merengue and Tia seemed to fight for Portia's friendship. At first it was cute how Tia said how trustworthy Portia was and how she could tell her anything. Then Merengue came along and she started saying how much she loved Portia. I eventually let Portia leave because I wanted Bam, but I'm hoping to get another snooty (Francine) to give my normals a friend.

I have witnessed Ruby and Sly sit on a bench together, one of the times being when Sly was asleep. Sly also asked me to deliver something to Ruby once or twice now too. They seem like an odd but adorable couple. I know the game randomizes things like these but I was so shocked that they got 'paired up' for sitting on the bench, and doing a gift exchange both a couple times now. I think its meant to be ^.^

I totally ship Chief and Whitney and I've had enough conversations and errands to confirm this ship to be real. At one point, Whitney went as far as to say that Chief is oblivious to her feelings for a "deep" friendship! I've had hints at a few other ships in my town, but I really like the one between these two wolves since I actually plan on keeping them until the end of time, hehe.

I can imagine they'd make a very cute couple and she definitely has given you some evidence. I think it's adorable and I actually find it a bit fitting that Chief would be oblivious haha.

I think it's really funny when coincidences pile up to the point where even Holmes would bat an eyelash. It's definitely meant to be. My game does similarly with Puck and Flurry always tending to mention each other. I guess as my two "winter type" villagers, it only makes sense~

I ship my little marshmallows; Marshal and Flurry. <3 Also Fang and Whitney. :3 I'm pretty sure they have said things to feed into this ship though I can't remember many specific times at the moment though. I'm pretty sure something happened similar to what happened between Lucha and Bunnie for you; Marshal asked me to give Flurry a present cuz he was too shy to do it himself then started blushing dawww <3 also I've caught Fang and Whitney chillin in eachother's homes more than once haha.

I need to cycle to Chrissy again, but that's fine because I have plenty of people to get out (lookin' at you streetpass move-ins, and Quillson).

Personally, I think it'll end up to be LuchaBun because smugs are so flirtatious, and normal types tend to get on more with more mature types, like snooties. Wait. WHat if it ends up becoming LoLucha? Surely a gentleman would go for a less excitable, down to earth ladies.

Fang and Sprinkle were a thing for a while in my town before Sprinkle moved~ they were always sending each other things and visiting each other's homes, and multiple times Fang told me he was patrolling around Sprinkle's house to protect her from pitfall seeders.

(It wasn't me, I swear!) I feel a little bad for letting her go, but Baker only has so many keeper villagers and I prefer Bianca as a peppy. Snow leopards <3 <3

I slightly ship Mira and Tex. One time I listened in to a conversation between them. Tex was telling Mira how beautiful she was and sweet she was. But Mira stormed off. I think she secretly likes him but wouldn't admit it since I was there. And today, I caught Tex in Mira's house and he looked surprised and admitted that he didn't expect me to be here. So who knows what they're up to

I can totally see MerenguexTia being a thing actually! ;u; Both cutie African animals.

Also, I am SO down with Lollybun. XD Fan art now. I need it. They'd be so cute together. ;u; Imagine them like cuddling up under a blanket on the sofa with hot chocolate on a cold day! Ahh! Too cute!

And slightly off topic, but when I was 10/11 my friend told me that you could marry villagers, and I totally shipped Filbert and I. >w> The only characters I've ever really shipped, and this wasn't like a huge thing, but Hamphrey used to send Lolly lots of gifts and say he was too shy to take it himself, which I thought was really cute. I imagine he'd be the type to absolutely adore her, and for Lolly to be completely oblivious and sort of out of his league.

I'm currently going for a town with 2 of each given species (one male one female) because I ship villagers so hard. Weirdly Lolly is my odd one out right now too. I was supposed to get Rudy yesterday but then I had an accidental move-in so she's still alone. Whatever Lolly can be my bae.

Yes- I honestly ship Marshal and Blaire together. It all started innocently- Once, while celebrating my newly-constructed bridge, I caught the two of them basically standing right next to each other in the ceremony. Of course, I assumed that they were just randomly placed, so I didn't think much of it. Of course, soon after that, Marshall asked me to deliver a present to Blaire, saying that he was 'too shy' to do so himself. In addition, soon after that, my villagers began to gossip about the two of them. After that sequence of events, I couldn't help but think that the two of them would be a cute couple.

I also kind of ship Peanut and Filbert, but I can't see that happening. They look more like siblings.

I ship Poppy and Marshal, a couple of my villagers have said they are really close friends.

When I had Broccolo I shipped him with Rosie, as they did things to confirm it all the time. On Broccolo's birthday Rosie was at his house all day, and I once walked in on Rosie with Broccolo at her house.

i'm not really into shipping villagers, but i root for peanut x marshal in my town. they say they're best friends and they're always sending each other gifts. marshal was recently at peanut's birthday party and she was at his. they were even wearing couple tees at one point. that's the closest i'll get.

Hmmmm, it's kind of hard to gauge what kind of relationships my villagers have with one another as most of them like to interact with each other so I get a lot of different stuff from time to time.

However, that being said I'm pretty sure Olivia and Wolfgang have a thing going on and I also hear a lot about Pashmina and Vesta. :3c

Olivia asked me to bring Wolfgang over twice to her home: the first to return something and I swear they were flirting! The second to talk to him about how she had a dream he left town and asked to confirm that because she was worried and he scoffed and said she had nothing to worry about. Also one day Olivia asked to hang me out at a certain time and what was she doing before then? She was going to go boogie boarding with Wolfgang! Aww~

As for Pashmina and Vesta a lot people like to talk about how close they are and a few of the other girls are jealous. They have such cute things to say about each other and they hang out around each other when they're both outside and it's so cute. Vesta said that even though Pashmina seems standoffish she's a really good friend to have and likewise Pashmina said she was glad for her friendship with Vesta. Awww~
