What are your favorites? I like the uchi, normal, and smug villagers...

Also, if you could create a new personality, what would you make it? Personally, I think we need villagers that would be super interested in tech kind of stuff. Like, a geek personality. It could be modern (guys) and trendy (girls.) They could talk about video games and movies and music and just in-game pop culture stuff. Like, a mix between jock/peppy and lazy/normal villagers.

Derwin and Velma are two characters that come to mind that would be modern/trendy characters. Tiffany would also be a trendy character, imo.

Are there any villagers that you feel should have different personalities? I always thought Muffy (though she's a good uchi) would have made a better snooty.

I LOVE lazy villagers! They are such goofs!
And they're constantly talking about food and yawning (cuuute)

Jocks are pretty funny too, they're always so excited about something c:

As for a personality I would like to see...
How about shy? You could help them come out of their shell!
That would be adorable, imo c:

I have a lot of favorite personalities: Smug, Snooty, Normal, Uchi, Peppy, and Cranky.

I like the idea of having a geeky like personality. Before I restarted my town, I used to have Graham. He seemed like a real geek/nerd to me, but his personality was Smug. Perhaps will get more new personalities if they make another Animal Crossing game?

Personally, I'd like to see a stubborn personality. For example, they aren't very nice to you at first and may come off as rude (Like Phyliss) but later on, they start to become more friendly and nicer to you.

Shy (girls) and reserved (guys) could work! That'd be really adorable. :D

Stubborn (girls) and headstrong (guys) could work. Like tsundere types! That would be awesome. I think Marshal should switch to being a headstrong character.

I have personally always loved crankies, though I preferred them more back when they were actually kind of mean until you befriended them. They still make me smile though. I used to love lazies but now I feel relatively neutral to them as a group, there are just a number of them that I really adore, but not so much the personality itself. I also used to always feel really good about myself for befriending snooties in previous games, but now they just start rumors. I think my favorites overall right now are smug and normal.
I agree that shy and reserved would be good updated personalities, or shy for girls and moody for boys (marshal needs to be moody, not smug) Shy should be easily surprised and startled and not know what to say to you until you get really close to them, and moody should be brooding and deep lol

Yes yes yes. Moody Marshal is all of the yes. Much better than headstrong Marshal! :D Moody/shy would be awesome.

I never thought id like the jock villagers as much as i do but the fact that their always excited and kinda dumb makes them so funny to talk to! I dont know what I would pick for a new personality... Im glad they introduced the tomboy. What about like a rambunctious personality (for lack of better words) Like they have that mischievous little kid attitude, and would always want to play games or something and wear bandaids from all the scrapes on their knees?

how about like a tsundere-like personality lol (that'd be cool lol)

but my favorite personalities are cranky and lazy!! though personally, I prefer the old cranky personality than the cranky in new leaf.. :( such a shame they kinda tuned down the crankiness!

I like crankies, uchis, Smugs, normals, and snooties...really all but Jock and peppy, and most lazies. As far as a new type I think there needs to be a male normal, I just said this recently on a similar question.

I agree with the nerdy or modern. When I had Cobb the jock pig as a starter he wore glasses and his house has a lot of science and lab stuff, I always said based on home and looks he was a nerd pretending to be a jock, lol. A lot of the uchis seem to have a modern vibe. In my newest town it is funny though most all the villagers have an alpine or part classic part minimalist or wood modern going on, except Pheobe who has a great house, and Olivia with a modern, and a peppy with a lovely. When I got Ed out and Papi in the houses were so close to the same it was funny even with different types.

Yes omg we need shy villagers.

What if we also had goth villagers?
Just really dark scary villagers? Tiffany can fall into that category.
I just love lazy villagers! I can really relate to them!

I like lazies and normals the most.

I also really like the ideas you have. My ideas would be absolutely horrible compared to others.

General consensus:

Geeky characters (modern guys/trendy gals)
Tsundere characters (moody guys/stubborn gals)
Reserved characters (quiet guys/shy gals)
Rambunctious characters (mischievous guys/trickster gals)
Goth characters (mysterious guys/gals)

Yessss.

I'm just saying but you keep on making different names for each gender, I think it should stay how it is, gender neutral c:

I like the normals best, honestly. And the uchis are refreshing too, whenever I have one in my town, however rare that may be...

When it comes to creating new personality types I'm not sure whether I would focus on expanding the current ones we have (so we don't get as many repetitive lines and the like) or making entire new ones. I like the idea of a shy type that would take a while to warm up to you, generally spend most of their time indoors or away from busier public areas. That would definitely be nice, I think. I like the techy/trendy ideas already mentioned, too.

Second thing that came to mind was a parody of all those RPG heroes and protagonists on shows, if that makes any sense? My brain's friend at the moment so I'm not sure how to articulate it, but basically yeah, a parody of the bold brash types that are always yammering on about ~friendship~ and rushing headlong into situations without thinking... that would make me smile. I dunno how it would translate ingame though.

Third, hammy actor/actress theatre types. Just all-around melodramatic... could be fun :)

Another note - if we get smug dude animals flirting with us, why not have a female counterpart to that? I think it would fit peppy or uchi types best.

Characters reconfigured to Modern:

Graham

Characters reconfigured to Moody:

Marshal
Baabara

Characters reconfigured to Shy:

Lolly

Characters reconfigured to Trickster:

Tammy

Characters reconfigured to Goth:

Cherry
Muffy

I think that's about it.

Lazy and cranky are my favorites so far! They seldom pass through. I always have jocks and smug characters move in and it's getting a bit boring with them (seriously, I have 4 smugs in my town right now... OTL)
