I adore my handheld players, though, and NL is one of the best games I've ever played.

New leaf. I hated how i was limited to just checking on my animals at a tv only. I love how i can just whip out my 3ds xl and check on my animals at any time.

New Leaf, of course! ᵔᴥᵔ The graphics are way better, and you can do a lot more. And it's portable (｡◕ ∀ ◕｡)

New Leaf is easily the better game. As well as all the other reasons everyone else mentioned, I think Animal Crossing just works so much better as a ds game as it's portable and you can play anywhere.

80s anime is cool
New Leaf has a lot more stuff compared to City Folk.
City Folk was basically Wild World 2.0, and it's alright for a console Animal Crossing game.

I choose new leaf because of the public works projects, bushes, and you can customize the furniture.

One thing that City Folk has that New Leaf doesn't when it comes to Graphics is that the villagers' ears wag in CF.
