Animal Crossing Amiibo Card Packs are being sold in the US again!!

I woke up to a couple of my friends sending me that tweet because they know I've been addicted to buying amiibo cards over the summer. I've spent way too much just trying to make a dent in my collection, and I even caved at one point and bought a few fresh packs for a ridiculous amount of money. Eventually I just had to stop because the prices were just ridiculous, coupled with experiencing a handful of bad sales where people weren't truthful about the cards conditions, or packaged them very poorly. I'm so glad I was able to stop myself because this is super great news! I'm definitely gonna be splurging on a bunch of packs, and might even buy those booster boxes if they make a return. I'm so glad I can work on completing my collection now without having to pay an arm or leg.

Too bad they're not bringing back the RV camper cards, unless I misunderstood the announcement. Still lots of great villagers only available via that update and those cards

Amiibo's to me are useless unless RV's and items come back, though I use them to move in my favorites, I mainly bought series 5 for the items.

Japan already got a re-release and there were no new villagers. Exact same as the 2015 (?) release.

Series 1-4 packs contain 5 villager cards, and 1 npc card. Each series has 100 cards, with 400 cards total. Series 1-3 has 17 NPC cards and 83 villager cards, while Series 4 has 16 NPC cards and 84 villager cards.

Welcome Amiibo packs contain 6 villager cards. Welcome Amiibo has 50 villager cards in total, with no NPC cards.

Does some math... If I did it correctly that means 17 * 5.99 * 4 as a minimum for each series 1-4, and let's say 9 * 5.99 for the welcome amiibo packs. That's 461 dollars and 23 cents just to get enough packs/cards to have 1 of all of them, and that's assuming you don't have to buy more because you're getting duplicates... Let's say you need to double that amount to get everything... That's quite an expensive collection to start!

I figured it was only a matter of time before Amiibo cards were going to be back on the shelves, LOL! I’m so glad they’re coming back. Right now I have all my dreamies’ cards, some other villagers cards, and RV cards, so I’m not that interested in buying. Hurray for everyone else who has yet to own any cards though!

Very true! And I wish you could buy packs without the npcs in them, since I have no interest in those cards. Still, since I think the packs were selling on eBay and Amazon etc for US $25+ each, at least it will be a less expensive expensive collection?

and hopefully the individual cards will become much more affordable to buy on eBay ! (I can’t buy the fan made cards for reasons)

Nintendo of Canada Twitter wrote they will return to selected retailers. They didn't list the retailers but some should be ToysRUs, Walmart, Best Buy and EbGames. Not sure if they'll be sold in stores or online only. Walmart with Series 4 when they first came out was online only in Canada. Other places to try are used video game stores and local online sites. Back when they first came out I bought some from a local online site and met at a local coffee shop with a family member waiting in the car. We did a trade for a trade card.
