amiibo is busy “packing” and can’t invite to campsite

hey so i just got tia’s amiibo, but every time i try to invite her to the camp, she says she’s “busy packing.” what does this mean exactly? does this mean she’s up next as to who would move into an empty plot? i tried scanning another villager which worked. i also previously tried to invite tia to my island from a friend’s island before but my island was full.

omg I've been having this problem too. I kept trying to invite Tammi (peppy monkey) and she kept saying she was busy moving. I was able to invite any other amiibo that I scanned, just not her. It's so weird.

The only time that happened to me was when I scanned the amiibo of a character I had just invited to move in... so maybe they’re moving in?

that’s the only reason i can think of— that the game remembers that i asked tia to move in previously and is waiting for an empty lot? i wish i could’ve known before i bought the damn amiibo card...

It happened to me the very first time I scanned Tammi's card though, I had just received her in a trade and it told me she was moving. That's what made it especially odd.

yeah the campsite is empty, and i feel like if it was defective, the game wouldn’t have probably recognized it to begin with

Yeah, that's crazy. Not sure what would cause that. I just know it's a royal pain making them come back 3 times to move in. I wish they shortened it after the first one or with a 5 star town.

This may be a bug having to do with trying to invite Tia from another island... I can't really think of any other explanation, but this isn't the first time I've seen this issue and both instances they had tried to invite the same villager from another player's island BEFORE using their amiibo card.
