Amiibo cards?

Can somebody explain them please? What are they? What do they add to the game? I don't know if I should ask for Amiibo cards when I ask for the game.

The NFC Reader is for identifying Amiibo Cards. (There's an Amiibo Phone in the office.) You can call on whichever Amiibo Cards' villagers you want (from a given package of cards.) They are also useful for when you have a party at a given villager's house; you can do an invite with those Amiibo Cards villagers.
