ok, so i consider myself to be very good when it comes to exterior design. I would know what item to decorate with and what goes where and such but when it comes to interior, im the lousiest. I could think for an extensive period of time and still can't come up with a good design or even a theme.

I feel like I'm the exact opposite!! I had no trouble at all decorating most of the inside of my house (I actually did no work on the exterior of my island while I was working on it haha) and now I'm really having to think and try things outdoors and then re-do them when it doesn't work out how I wanted so my progress had slowed Way down

gah I am the same. I leave the inside of my house until it's the only thing on my island that hasn't been completed (design / decorating wise)
Most of the time I dump items in there that I want to keep but don't want to clog up my house inventory haha.

I work with a team of 4 other artist to create all sorts of designs and layouts. If you ever get stuck you should check us out! https://marshalmallowislanddesigns.godaddysites.com/#a5f30b53-8245-4799-bc7f-1f8320324610

I'm exactly the same. I am really liking what I'm doing outside, particularly since Halloween and autumn happened. I don't have a clue what to do inside my house.

I don’t know if I’m bad at interior design per se, but I definitely struggle to find the motivation for it.

I have long since completed my main ideas for each area on the exterior of my island. Inside my houses are pretty empty though haha. I have 5 villagers and I’ve only completed 2 rooms in one of their houses that’s it. I have ideas for each room of every house I just haven’t bothered to actually start decorating any of them aside from the two rooms I mentioned.

I'm not so great at both, but for interior spaces it's easier to come up with a 'purpose' for a room. I have more ideas for purposes inside than I have rooms. But coming up with the right furniture to put in such a room is hard for me. My 'kitchen' is still not right, and my toy room is basically a big mess of small and large teddy bears and other toys.

I really struggle with that outside, coming up with a purpose for an area. I have a big, big orchard, a campsite, a forest of hardwood trees, some bamboo trees, and cedar trees, and places where I've planted a bunch of every species and color of flower... but there are still big empty spaces that I can't find a purpose for. If I get an idea, I usually have the furniture to make it 'right' though, which is something I lack inside.

I loved interior design in NL and I even played the hell out of HHD, but I kind of struggle with it in NH. Some furniture items are very limited in options so it can be hard.

the sims franchise has always been a huge favorite of mine, so i think having a lot of experience with decorating in that game has given me some hindsight for games like this with the option for interior design. admittedly, my exteriors were always a little lackluster in the sims, but as i've continued playing i've gotten better at making everything look decent and to my liking.

animal crossing has certainly helped out a lot with that, however, given all the space we have to utilize and essentially create whatever we want.

when it comes to decorating my house in AC, however, i feel like i try to choose a theme for a room and stick to it. with colours, and general furniture aesthetics, etc., which can sometimes put a damper on what i'm trying to do in the end. if i just let go of some of my prohibitions about putting that furniture with this furniture..
