The main item I never got but always wanted was the hamster ball thingy on the front game cover

Is this an item that I have to unlock myself or could I buy it off a user here??

Aww Thank you for letting me know I'll add it to the list of things I did not unlock with the police station

I'm pretty sure any personality of villager can request the police station. But I got it from a normal villager.

They both in fact are public work projects ( as said before ).
If you’re having troubles with them, then I recommend you follow these steps that worked for me:

- Get a swimsuit ( optional: megaphone and timer ).
- Go to the beach and or a cliff near it.
- Put on the swimsuit and set the timer for five minutes.
- Jump in and swim as far away from the town as possible.
- Wait for the timer to go off, then swim ashore.
- Sneak around town and find the villager you need to request said public work project ( the megaphone comes in handy here ).
- Hope they ping you.
- Repeat until you have all the public work projects you want.
