So if you don't know what they are
Melanesian: the condition in man and animals of having dark-coloured or black skin, feathers, etc.
Albinism (in animals): is the condition where animals appear all white with deep pink or icy blue eyes

albinos look really cute to me
And right now I'm taking care of a stray albino cat

Did you Photoshop those lions?

You beat me too it. XP

Also, by how you say it OP, it sounds like you are saying Albinism cannot occur in humans (man) but it does.
When I was in high school there was a kid on another track team that was albino that was white, white afro, and red/pink eyes... He was really good in sports and had an afro so everyone called him the Albino Black Kid. -shakes head-

I know it does hence why I put (in animals)
But I can see where you're getting this from because I put in humans and in animals for the Melanesian definition
@ Lovemcqueen Nope but someone did

I used to have an albino deer that lived in my woods. It wasn't too big so it either died naturally or was shot during bow season.......... It's a shame.

Also having a melanistic chicken would be rad.

Yes it is because you include man in the first and not in the second...
Also, I think you mean "Melanism" and not "Melanesian" in your post.
Melanism is the black pigment opposite of albinism
Melanesian is "relating to Melanesia" ... so doesn't have to do with the pigment of the skin but the location or native-ness of something.

Anyways I vote albino.
We use to have a lot of big albino rabbits when I was a kid... their red/pink eyes were so creepy, it was great. ^-^

There's also a bird-specific mutation, lutino. It's basically the same as albinism, but instead of white it turns feathers yellow. It's a pretty popular mutation as well. I currently have a lutino budgie myself.

I wouldn't say I prefer any one mutation over the other though.

There's an albino guy in my Business Studies class, I don't really talk to him but he seems nice and he has to wear special glasses because he can't see well due to being albino.

I don't really have any preference between albino or melanism animals, but since I've seen more albino ones I voted for that. My cousins used to have an albino rabbit and it was cute :3

I'm going with Melanistic animals. Albino animals with the pink eyes creep me out ;___; Especially mice.
