I only worry about map and fruit really, it's good if there's at least 2 villagers I like as well.
I hate cherries and pears, every time I thought I'd found the perfect map, perfect layout with awesome villagers, it always had cherries.

Also, resetting for 1 day? That's cute. I know people who reset for months on end trying to get a good map.
