So i've been playing ac for a really long time now, but i've never once touched the stalk market until now. I'm not entirely sure why, but I guess it was intimidating for some reason? Anyways, I decided I wanted to give it a try and read up on all the different patterns, when to sell and when not to sell, but i've encountered a problem.

Because i'm in school for 7 hrs of the day, 5 days a week, I have no way to check turnip prices before noon unless I time travel. I read somewhere that time travelling instantly spoils your turnips, so i'm a bit worried to do this. I'm wondering if it is necessary to check the prices before noon and still figure out the selling patterns and when is the optimal time to sell your turnips. Or is it possible to time travel and check both prices without spoiling your turnips? If any of you who are or were previously in school and have a solution to this that would be amazing... as i'm quite stumped about what I should do :/

Thanks! ;)

I've barely touched turnips, buuut I do know that any time traveling will most likely instantly rot your turnips. :(

I also recently began using the stalk market.

Instead of stressing about checking twice a day I'm planning to use these forums, AC discord servers and also reddit's AC Turnips board to find suitable places to sell my turnips.

Of course I'll check my own town's prices but I'm not going to stress it. I figure as long as I'm active, I'll definitely find someone.

The only advice I can give though regarding your specific problem is to bring your 3DS to school and check the prices? In the bathroom? Haha.

Yeah, my school is really really strict so they would never let me do that. I think i'll try to do what your doing :)

It might be a good idea to try one of the other boards after you have bought turnips, just see if anybody has any good prices in their towns. I know there was one person on here a while ago who just had a town solely for other people to sell turnips to earn their badges. Think they always kept the time the same and on the same day so the price would never be below 600 or something. My town has never had good turnip prices. I'm still on my silver badge, so I'll probably start buying them again soon

Do check the train station board to see if anyone has good prices as the above poster suggested. If you have extra games or friends with cycle towns you could try TT for prices on the weekends, whenever I play the stalk market now I usually do this we have a few towns each so someone can TT on a cycle or unused town for prices and someone else TT on Sunday's for Joan to have the best price then we spend ages repeating selling and buying. Those bells add up fast.

Because you said your school is really strict about getting out your 3DS if you still want to check your own town, and are willing to, I would set your town to the early bird ordinance so re-tail opens at 6 a.m. so you can check before school.

When I was in high school they let us play 3DS during lunch :) Anyway I'm also just picking up the stalk market because of those darned badges, my strategy is to buy below 100 bells and sell above 100 bells, just to make a safe bet and guarantee a profit. Hopefully I can make a chunk of change too, because I blew almost all my IGB on Gracie furniture :rolleyes:

Turnips spoil if you TT backwards, not forward. Don't play AC before school and once you get home/place you can play when talking to Isabelle change the time to e.g. 11am. Sorted ;) but yeah, usually checking the train station forum is a better idea ;)

Definitely seconding the Train Station and /r/ACTurnips suggestions, when I used to activity deal with turnips that's where I would lurk assuming I wasn't the one with high prices. Time traveling backwards is bad, forward is fine.

That's a good idea. I'm just worried about all of my flowers wilting when I stop the beautiful ordinance D; I have a LOT of flowers. I may set my clock back so that when I get home from school it will be 11:00 am on animal crossing. Or just lurk around the forums to see if anyone has high prices they are willing to share!

Yess, the main reason i'm doing this is for badges xD My bells just seem to go so fast when i'm at Gracie's ;w;

Thanks for the advice :) I think I will either set back my clock so that when i get home it will be 11 am on animal crossing or just check the forums... or both.

Have you considered setting the clock forward a hour or two so that re-tail opens before you go to school and you can still check in the afternoon. It would be like having the early bird ordinance but you're just changing the clock. It might disrupt the times less that setting the clock back so that when you finish school it's still 11am in your town.
