Advice for Hosting Turnip Prices

I’m wondering if anyone has any advice about hosting for good turnip prices. I’ve been tracking my turnip prices and I predict that I’ll have a large spike either tomorrow or Friday and I’d like to open my island up to visitors. How many should I let in at a time? Should I use turnip.exchange to make things run smoothly? Is it okay to ask for tips? I’ve never hosted something like this before so any advice is appreciated!

turnip exchange will make it run more smoothly, and my best suggestion would be to keep visits limited to two. It'll take longer to get everyone through but you'll have much less to deal with and less interuptions.

Move your Nook's near the airport. Use fencing to restrict people to direct routes to / from the airport. Multiple people have reported that their towns were griefed while offering high turnip prices on this site. Thankfully, this doesn't happen too often, but you should still be vigilant against these kinds of people.

Also, if you plan on charging an entry fee upfront, use fencing in such a way that people can't access Nook's until they've paid (although it might just be better to have them pay after selling, since that allows people to bring more turnips). "Tips not required but are appreciated" is a perfectly fine policy; an entry fee of 99k/1NMT is also usually considered reasonable as well, at least within this community.

My advice: don't drop anything on your island. No DIYs, no furniture, no clothing, no fossils, nothing. Make sure everything is placed or safely kept in your home or storage. Unless you want to give stuff away of course!

create a path using fencing to your nooks using fencing so no one is allowed to wander off. i would only allow 2 or 3 people in a time to make the loading screen wait times faster.. turnip exchange is really convenient for hosting islands so i definitely recommended using that as it distributes the dodo code to the number of people you want at a time and just keeps a nice queue going. i would also specify if you would allow people to make multiple trips or not; some people only allow one trip to make things faster.
