ACNL Hacked Towns

So recently I've been looking a lot at hacked towns. I've always wanted to crack it myself, but never could find a SD card. Before hand though, I had a couple questions.

- If I homebrew my DS can I still connect online? Or does nintendo brick it off so once it's cracked I can't play with other people?

- Is the SD card the same as a ROM card from previous devices?

- Is there a way to reverse the homebrew?

I've never done this sort of thing so excuse me if I'm being ignorant lol

I don't know tbh, I lost my sd card when I did it on 11.8 but I followed the same tutorial that someone made for 11.8, and it worked on 11.9

the SD card used, is it basically the same as the SD cards used to homebrew the regular DS?

I kinda answered the question in my big comment, but unless you use custom firmware, you're probably going to lose homebrew with every 3ds update. I've had to reinstall homebrew countless times because of this...
