I want to buy an action replay for my 3ds, mainly because I want to backup my acnl town so I still have it if it gets corrupted. Any experiences with that? I'm kinda unsure if it works... like if there is a risk? Can you really backup it so you can load it as if there wasn't any problem if it got corrupted? And play like before? I do not have interest in the cheats, as I had the AR for my wild world town (and the fun gets lost if you cheat too much...), but since the one for the 3ds is a new one and you can backup your game, I am eager to buy it... So: Any expiriences? Should I buy it? Thanks!

If your sure it backs up, you might as well as it would save making a new town

I'm sorry, but this subject isn't allowed here. TBT isn't a place to talk about game hacking (even with back-ups).

i assume you mean powersave? powersaves work with acnl. ive used it before and it works fine, your town will be exactly how it was when you made the backup. its also handy in case a dreamie moves out and you don't want to cycle/buy them back.
(matt means 'if youre sure that you can make backups for acnl, you might as well, as it would save time if you were to start from scratch and make a new town' (i think))

they said they wanted to know how backing up would work. they even said they have no interest in cheats/hacks.

yes it is. They mention they have no interest in hacking and as long as this thread doesn't contain the subject it is allowed. They are talking about backing up their game, not to talk about hacks for it.

I must've gone overboard then. The reason why i said that was the only way to back up ACNL data is by using powersaves.

@computertrash Thanks for your answer...!
I didn't think this question would fall under cheating... I mean I just want to save my town, to protect it if it's gonna get corrupted. There are so many threads coming up nowadays talking about files getting corrupt, so I just wanted to make sure mine doesn't ... But sorry if this isn't a question that is appropiate.. Just wanted to ask ;) I am no hacker~ nor cheater!

No problem. But the reason why files are being corrupted more often is because older copies of ACNL are vulnerable due to the increasing security Nintendo has been doing. But yeah, we still don't offer advice for game hacking.

Data corruptions of towns are not as common as you think. Just don't be stupid about it (i.e. turning off while saving or loading, removing SD card while 3DS is on etc).
