Is it okey i vent a little bit?!

Why oh why do i watch all these beautiful islands on YouTube? Sure i see lots of nice idea's but when i'm in the game i'm only doing things that seem pointless. I never seem to get the items i want from Gulliver and never encounter pascal. Have switched my blankets countless times changing different Tartan and Quilt designs it seems it never ends. Am at the point i kinda do like the shape of my island and the placements of houses. But boy how many times they have switched places it's crazy. Especially my museum. I've changed that around 20 times.

How come some people islands are 1000 times prettier then mine, in probably 1000 times less time. I'm really getting a bit crazy over here. Why oh why does my shop always have the same surfboard design. Wanted to make a diving spot on my peninsula so i ordered the surfboard but i can't customize it.

I can go on and on and on... But today was really crazy. Yesterday i deleted a brick design i really love. Thinking i needed to change in one that was more versatile. But couldn't find a good replacement so i wanted my old one back. I know i should have written it's name but i forgot. Have searched and searched, nothing. Went back in my YouTube history and there i saw it again. I was so happy! Her channel is called: It's Me, Andie. I think she deleted those design's but i was still able to download them with a QR-code. She also doesn't mention a creator code and the search function at the able sisters doesn't list this design. I couldn't find it...

Oh now i need some oxygen and rest. But not before i vented a little bit... I hope you don't mind?!

Maaan, if a game is causing you that much stress you probably need to take some time off

Take your time w/ your island, and stop comparing it to other people's islands!
Also, surfboards only come in one color to everyone, so in order to get the other colors you need to catalogue other people's boards or trade.

And its ok to vent, there's a entire ginormous thread dedicated to venting

I think we all compare our islands to the fancy dream addresses sometimes but try to not let it get you down and just let it inspire you!
Also, I would definitely suggest trading for items you want. I never would be able to design how I want to if I didn't trade for items.

Thank you both for your kind words... Don't know if my post is a rant. I do love this game although there are some things that could be better. Just needed to vent that's all. Gonna stop watching all those beautiful islands on YouTube. In fact every island i visit in game are so beautiful when i do a trade here on the forum. Well a trade, it's more like you guy's and girls giving me stuff and helping me. You are so talented and precious all. And i'm quite talented as well you 2 made me realize that! And you both cheered me up! Gonna take some time off probably 1 afternoon or something. Then i'm back in business thank you all...

Keep in mind that many of the pretty islands are only good for screenshots, but you can't walk three steps anywhere because they're way too cluttered. Which is fine if you enjoy making pretty pictures, but it's really not a good standard for "normal" gameplay.

I've been playing since release and I got a ton of half developed little places because they just look boring compared to other islands and I can't really figure out how to make them better without making them unplayable for me. But that's fine, I'll eventually come up with ideas that work for me, and then I'll have an island that's mine and not just the 1000th cottagecore island somewhere o the internet.

i know how you feel, i've restarted my island well over 5+ times and leveled it even more often. the only thing i can really say to do is focus less on what other people are doing with their islands and instead focus on yours. every island is unique to each person and while having inspiration from others is fine, it's a lot nicer to come up with your own spin on things.

I am really trying to make an original island on my own without much needed inspiration but it's pretty tough. I will still visit friends islands for inspiration but i'm leaning toward re-creating a town from Pokemon. Don't know which town, but probably a small town.

Right? Imagine trying to do the bug off in that...

So many of these islands are definitely just for photos, especially when you see someone have a setup where you can't even sit on the couch or chairs lol. I wouldn't like having an island like that. I want mine to feel like a home and want to be able to get to things/interact with things.

I love seeing all those beautiful youtube islands...but honestly a good chunk of them would be a pain to play on. I feel like my island is pushing it a bit, though not to the point that most areas are completely inaccessible.

I agree with what every one has been saying thus far. A lot of these dream islands would be impractical to navigate through on a daily basis. Maybe that’s what makes them a dream.

Reflecting on our island goals regularly is healthy, in my opinion. Honestly, there should be a KonMari method to island transformation.

Is this project sparking joy? Am I doing this for myself or solely for the recognition of others? Will I be able to navigate through this area easily should the need arise? Am I leaving enough land available or open space for further updates/events? Etc,etc.

I love watching island tours and seeing what other people have done on the game but theres 100% no way that I would be able to play on any of those super fancy themed islands, they're lovely to look at but the amount of clutter and lag that would come with it wouldn't be worth it for me personally. it's hard when you end up comparing what you're working on to other people, I've found that I can enjoy seeing what other people have done on their islands and be okay but as soon as I start comparing their layout/decorations to mine I start to really not enjoy playing
