I feel like I have the unpopular opinion about loving the cute little events like may day and the museum day.
They arent big holidays or celebrations, just little fun activities to add to your day and its sweet! Museum day was likely to try and get people to go to museums irl not focus on the one in the game, but with everything being closed that didnt happen :c
Not everything has to be big and exciting, Nintendo didnt expect everyone to be curled up at home doing nothing when they made all of these events/didnt plan to make events that take hours to complete aside from holidays or major celebrations!
Not to say you cant be disappointed, but I mean imagine not having any of these small events at all! It adds a little difference to the day to day grind of ac c:

I haven't done the museum day stuff yet, but I agree, not everything needs to be a big and elaborate game-changer.

I don't think your opinion is unpopular at all, it's just that people that don't like it tend to be VERY vocal (a vocal minority, if you would lol). I think most people are fine with the holidays not being super grand and stuff, i also like the small events, especially when they include cute dialog/comments like this event c:

They're not big events, and I think those types of things should be saved specifically for holidays or whatever. People complaining about May Day and Museum Day are coming off as a bit entitled. Nintendo didn't have to create these events. For all we know, they saw that people missed Rover, so they made it possible to at least interact with him. And both events are giving you things for free.

I liked May Day, but the Museum Day was “meh” imo. I get that they don’t have to be big events and such, but personally I felt like I was only focusing on collecting the stamps rather than acknowledging the importance of the museum but that’s just me. It’s great that other people seem to enjoy it more than I did.

I don't know, I wasn't even expecting anything big because things as May Day or Museum Day aren't really that big and doing something splendid for them... Why? I enjoyed walking around the museum, got stamps and that's all. I get the disappointment coming from people and I respect their opinions, but for me their expectations were just a bit too high for such minor events. c: No offense though.

I dont see anyone saying its entitled to have a differing opinion...?
But collecting stamps is a very common thing in museums and tourist areas in general over in Japan! People will collect their stamp books and what not to show all the different places they've gone/when c: in the USA and other countries I dont think it's as common (I have seen it before here on the east coast) but this was like a little nod to that!
I believe the idea of adding museum day into the game was to 1: encourage everyone to go to a museum (I really want to go to one now) and 2: show how much more realistic the current museum is than in previous games/give you that feeling of going to a museum to get stamps!

It feels, to me, that a lot of people have become so used to the hype and grind of Pocket Camp. Personally, I hated the grind and even Bunny Day and the Cherry Blossom crafting events were a bit much. I much prefer something low-key like the stamp rally, which lets you go at your own pace.

I know there aren't any more unique prizes, but each stamp makes you pause at a new spot, and that changes daily, so maybe you'll see an exhibit from a new angle, and that can't be bad.

Hmmm, yeah, maybe it's just not something I'm into but it does seem like an interesting thing to collect as souvenirs! ^-^ Someone did say that they're much more enjoyable irl so maybe that's why

I had no expectations for May Day and the stamp event, so I enjoyed it. In fact, I just wished May Day was daily for a week. I enjoyed the maze lol. I look at these not as events, but small interruptions to the daily routine that allow me to relax a little. Plus I never go to my museum rooms enough but when I do, I realize it is the most beautiful part of the game.

They are about what I expect, honestly - I do not really recall any events in the past games where I was like "that was really fun, I want to do this more than once". Could they do better with the events? Absolutely, especially in a 2020 game, but I will not be super disappointed if this is the caliber of future events as well, because the fun in Animal Crossing for me has never been the stellar, exciting events, it's the customization and decorating for me at least, and this installment knocks that aspect out of the park for me.
