I'm getting Animal Crossing: New Leaf on my birthday on the 23rd, and I was wondering if I start the game on that day will I still get my birthday party or no?

No, I started an alt and made that day her birthday out of curiousity -- Isabelle wished me a happy birthday but no-one else said a thing because, i suppose, I had no friendship with anyone. Sorry

You could make an alternate character have a birthday in the near future (a couple weeks after you get the game) as a sort of belated birthday.
