So I started my game today and noticed that Isabelle said it was Saturday the 12th - but today it's the 11th, so my game is a year behind I would like to go to 2014, but I don't dare travel a year ahead at once, since I'm afraid of losing one of my precious villagers. What would be the best way of traveling a year ahead?
Beau just asked to move and I said no, if that has any influence at all.
The only way to do it safely would be to tt very slowly and it would probably take you ages to skip past a year. Having it at a different year isn't really a big deal and I'd leave it that way unless you don't mind losing a villager or two by skipping a year.
Once you hit a day where someone pings you to move, tell them to stay and then you can tt to the current date in one jump without losing any of your villagers.
For the record the safest way to TT forward a large amount of time is to do it with the 3DS system settings, load AC and make a new character. ~ If all your villagers are still there (or it's someone you wanted to leave that has moved anyway) you then save that new character.
If someone does move out when you make the new character, reset without saving and using the 3DS system settings again TT back to he date you left it at and load you mayor, that villager should then ping to ask to move out. Tell them to stay and repeat the process until no one moves out.
If that then leaves your 3DS date and in game sate out of synch changing the 3DS clock back and then changing the time with Isabelle on your mayor to the same date that new character was made but at a time later than they saved will keep your town the same date and put your clocks back in synch.
The previous tip that you done is a fairly safe way if TTing forward, but it can still lead to villagers moving. (albeit very rarely)
