So this is the third time in the last two weeks that I've lost my striped wetsuit (which is fairly rare) after disconnecting from the international island. The first two times, I had my wetsuit in my pocket, and lost it along with everything else I had caught and hadn't put in the basket yet. The third time, I had just put my wetsuit on before disconnecting, and I still lost it...

So either put your rare wetsuit on before you go to the island and keep it on the whole time, or don't take it at all :T

Um, I thought you weren't able to take any of your items with you on the island?

I wore my wetsuit to my private island (it's treated like clothes as long as you're wearing it when you talk to Kapp'n, so you don't have to leave it behind), and put in the basket before I left the island so I'd have it for my next trip. I do that so I don't have to wear the ugly green rental one. But you lose anything in your pockets if you disconnect, which is why I was saying either keep it on the whole time or don't bring it.

I don't know what you'd ever take it off if you're on the island. Unless you're just dying to show off your outfit to people there, there's no reason to take it off.

If you wore your wetsuit to the island, why did you remove it? I wore mine there once before, but I prefer to use the rental one if I choose to go diving. However, what I wear to the island (like clothes or accessories) stay on me at all times.

I've been careful since I lost my hero boots on a tour - I stupidly took them off & put on the ground to go diving and the game ended with them still on the ground - so lost. Total brain freeze.
Plus I tend to keep shoes (& hat) on now, even tho it feels odd when swimming.

I know you can take things to your own island (If you are wearing them) and leave them there - so I guess you could take a rare swim suit and leave it there to wear when you go. (just put on patterns to get back to town).

I've done similar with an aloha shirt I bought on the island - I just leave it there to wear when I go.

As to CT islands - I wear nothing that anyone could conceivably want - or at least I wear orderables.
I've often had players error on me because I just want to shop & island hop (I tend to go around 2 or 3am, in my own region, to try and get an empty island) & hardly ever do, but I'm really not up to doing tours in the early hours. Taking clothes off on a CT island could easily mean their loss given the number of errors I get.

When I was new to the game, I would always get undressed to go swimming. I thought you had to remove your shoes and hat, so I'd put them in my pocket. I don't know why I thought that. LOL

Lol I would never take off my swimsuit when I'm in the island. The clothes my mayor is wearing suck so I don't want people to see me qeari g ugly clothes

Tbh, I wouldn't have brought my wetsuit with me at all because I know I can get a rental at the island, so why would I need to? anyway i'm sorry for the loss of your wetsuit, maybe it'll be better if you don't bring it along next time? all the best though, on finding it again. c:

Okay, thanks for the great advice! I haven't been into deep sea diving yet so I never use my wetsuit as much as I should since the musem is still in need of more species

WOW! i didn't even know this could happen! makes me really worried now. I don't think I'd take my wetsuit with me then when i go to the islands.. just to be safe..
cuz i have a strip white and red one.. and pink one.. :D my favs!

Watch for players that ask to see your clothing. They might hit the wifi switch.
Watch the little girl on the mat that you can sell items to. Click on it by mistake and she'll get it for 25 bells.
The wetsuit isn't darken out like the rental tools.

I wonder if that's what happened to my wet suit once, a long time ago. I know I lost it somehow, and I'm pretty sure I never sold it by accident, but I could never figure out where it went. Maybe this is what happened.
