The idea of a town of a single species has been crossing my mind a lot lately, and while I don't think I'd ever end up going through with it it's still interesting to think about. I see so many people with deer, cat, dog and squirrel towns and I love the way it looks! C:
To those of you who have a single species town, does it get boring? Are there any personalities that you're missing out on, or did you pick an animal that has all personalities? I'm curious. ^_^

I was actually thinking of switching to an all cat town just because I have Rosie, Kiki, and Olivia which are all dreamies of mine. But I'd say it might get boring and you can't have any other animals I guess which I love a lot of villagers throughout the different species ;D I probably won't do it either :p

When I finish with the theme town I'm working on now, I want to try a hamster town; mostly influenced by Hamtaro, so it'll probably include a dog as well (plus side on that is it'll give me 9 villagers, so I won't get a random move-in since there are only 8 hamsters).

I figure that, to get any PWP I'd need from a villager not represented in a single-species town, invite (or have from the beginning) villager types you'll need, and use the diving trick to try and get them to ping before completely filling the town.

I used to have five cats in my main town (Lolly, Katt, Purrl, Rosie, Punchy); let Rosie leave, so I'm at four. I hardly find it boring because they have different personalities.

I wish the wolves represented all personalities...I'd definitely have an all-wolf town then ^^

Also your bunny town would be SO CUTE~

An all bunny town would be really cute C: it's different than whatt most people make one species towns of typically (cats/deer)

I have an all dog town and I adore each and every one of them. It doesn't get boring because I have at least one of each personality so they are all different. Plus it's so funny when one of them gets fleas, because, well, they're dogs!!

Cookie is Peppy
Cherry is Uchi
Portia is Snooty
Daisy and Goldie are Normal
Shep is Smug
Butch is Cranky
Mac is a Jock
Bones and Walker are Lazy

It looks like I have the exact same dog villagers you would want in an all dog town! You're welcome to visit my dream town any time to see how you like them :)

I'm working on an all deer town :) I currently have seven deer and I don't ever get tired of them. I love all of them to bits! Even though they're all the same species, they all feel unique and special to me, even the ones with the same personalities. I am missing a peppy and while I would love to have a peppy, my town feels just as enjoyable and complete without one. I like other non-deer villagers, too, but I would never trade away any of my deer for them.

If you love a species very much and are OK with missing certain personalities or having doubles of others, a single-species town is a really interesting and rewarding long-term goal to work towards :)

I have been mulling over the idea of doing an all sheep town because I love them so much. Hamsters would be super cute, too.

I like the idea of one-species towns, I think they're really fun, and I love visiting dream towns like that. There are so many cute themes you could do with it (like horseshoe flags and fence paddocks for all-horses, lilypads and qr code ponds for all-frogs etc.)
Personally though, I know I'd get bored quite quickly. I tried a side-project with only frogs and ducks, and although I love both of those species, I started wishing for more variety of villagers quite quickly, and I ended up deleting the town altogether (will be using that cart for the 'One Year Challenge' now). Good luck if you decide to go for it though, an all-squirrel town would be adorbs, ten little puffy tails bobbling all around the place would be awesome :D

I had Papi, Savannah, Annalise, Buck, Roscoe at once and that was the closest I had to a single species town.

My first town was all squirrels except for Ruby the bunny. It was a little difficult to do, but was pretty fun since they were all different personalities. My hubby did all rabbits, but he's slowly switching over to all cats now.

A one species town can be interesting if you can find at least one of each personality.

I've never had one, but I would personally get bored of it, only because I like variety. u v u

But if you like the idea, you should definitely go with it! ?・ᴗ・`

I have an all wolf town, I love it because I'm obsessed with wolves/foxes
I couldn't care less about their personalities tbh, but one down point is that there are only 8 wolves in acnl...

I like the idea, but themed towns are more my thing and I already picked my theme. If I'd go a town of a certain type of villager I'd make the town match them. I'd probably pick something like Penguins or Frog, even though the kind of town I'd make for them to live in wouldn't be a very attractive thing for me. :p Sigh, I'm a complicated person lol.

There's also the problem that some of the interesting villager types only have 8 villagers or not all personalities.

I have never thought about doing this!
If I were to, I'd probably do an all squirrel town because I like almost all of the squirrels. X3
