There once was a town called Galveston that gotten destroyed in a matter of a few seconds by a hurricane. There is a dog named Duke who is a sheriff. He wears a dark bronze cowboy hat with a blue plaid shirt. He wears a dark brown vest over his shirt with a gold star pin on his left that displays Sheriff on it.
When the hurricane hit his small town. He knew he needed the help of the City Representative, Isabelle and the city Mayor Lily who is a human in a animal town. So he ran all the way to city hall and asked for help. So both agreed to help. They gathered everyone in town to the hurricane shelter just in time before the worse part arrives. Everyone was scared. So Mayor Lily told the town folks, "Listen to me. I know you are scared. I know you feel like this will be the end. But each of you are here alive. Everyone is here with family and friends. You're not alone!"
Rover speaks up while being scared and upset, "What can we do when we get out of here? What if there's nothing left for any of us? How will we survive? Where will we get food and shelter that we need?" Everyone nods in agreement with Rover.
Mayor Lily respond n a confidence voice, "When we get out of here one by one. We will clean up the damages. We will rebuild our town. We been through this before and we can overcome this! We're in this together. I promise you this." They heard bangs, thus, harsh winds, and heavy rain. They knew that the storm wasn't over til the sounds stop. So they got together to hug each other as a comfort. When the storm finally ends after 2 hours. Mayor Lily opens the door of the shelter. She put on a brave face and encourages her villagers to come out one by one. Helping them out by a hand. Everyone was in shocked that their house and businesses were destroyed. Mayor Lily told her town folks this, "I know we all are in shocked. We all lost everything but we are going to rebuild our town and we will come back stronger than we ever were."
One by one the town folks gather the damages. All the wood were used to make a fire. All garbage was thrown away in the dumper. It took a long time to rebuild and frustration was mounting, tension was high, and alot of pressure on the Mayor. But one bright thing that happen was when K.K. brought more people to help rebuild the town. One night K.K. gather everyone around and started singing his songs. All those negative emotions left and they were happy.
As the buildings were getting build. They decided to make the houses high enough where the waves can't reach it. They did that following because Mayor Lily talked to the Governor of Texas, Tom Nook. They went through a very deep conversations on hoe to make the town a better place for all involved. So they had contractors help make ot all possible. But that didn't start til Mayor Lily explain to them. She told them, "We will be building the houses above ground and making it a solid foundations for them so that when we get a hurricane. Our houses will be ok. The buildings will have a higher level of concrete so that water won't damage the building. Our Governor Tom has provided the money we need to rebuild. I didn't want to start without telling everyone the pla. So are y'all ok woth it?" Everyone said aye so they went and rebuild their town. Now the rest of the money went back to the state. So, after a year of the anniversary of the hurricane. The town folks came to city hall to give Mayor Lily something that they made together for her in honor of what she did for their town. So they knocked on the door and after she said enter. Duke say to his boss, "Mayor Lily, a year since our town was destroyed by the hurricane. You helped tremendously with the rebuilding and helping everyone build their house and business like never before. We all pitched in and make you this as a way of saying thank you for what you did and how you handled the situation. So we give you a handmade award made by everyone in this town. May you cherish it as we cherish you." Mayor Lily was stunned by this award.
She says to the town folks "I will definitely cherish the award that y'all made for me. I did this for y'all as much as I did for myself. This town means alot to y'all and it does to me as well." She had tears in her eyes as each town member came up to hug her. When they left city hall together. Mayor Lily look out the window overlooking the town. She let the tears fall down her face. The fact that they made an award for her has touched her soul and heart. So she made a handmade gift and left it on all their porches with a tag signed by her.
In the end, they grew stronger snd united as a town. They respect their Mayor for everything she does and continue to do for the food of everyone. So they all live happily ever after.
