Let's say you have a full town of 10, you go onto an island, find a villager you like, can you convince that person to come to your island then make room for them by kicking one out? OR do you have to make your town have an empty space first?

Also I remember reading that there's hoo-hah over "Glitched plots", what's the safest method to kick someone out?

If you have a full town with no empty plots, you won’t see any villagers on mystery islands.

So I have to kick one out first. Well I have hundreds of tickets I wonder how long it'd take for me to get Raymond xD

yeah, if you have a smug, maybe kicking them out would be better so you'll have more probability that a smug villager will be on islands or the campsite.

According to the Bernoulli Process with a 1/391 chance (though I guess it would be a few lower since you can't meet villagers already living on your island), after spending 400 tickets you would have a 64% chance of meeting Raymond. At 800 you would have a roughly 87% chance. At 1,200 island visits would you have a 95% chance.

I don't think the island visitors are impacted by what you have in your village (apart from the third, fourth and fifth residents to move to your town that are locked to three respective personalities).

The campsite is also up for debate but it does appear there's a greater chance to a certain degree of seeing a personality your town is lacking, but again it's not a guarantee (my friend had 40 campsite visitors from TTing with no smug in their town and they only saw a smug 9 times).

TBH even since WW I've never understood the "groups".

My current villagers are, Jacques, Frita, Reneigh, Stinky, Big Top, Rizzo, Diana, Anabelle, Sprinkle and Vesta. TBH I don't want to lose Diana out or Jacques.

And to Brock, I have 400 tickets now... Interesting.

As a side note; Can you kick multiple out to get multiple empty plots? Or is it 1 at a time?

First of all, I am so jealous you have Jacques. He is wonderful and one of my favorite smug villagers. :)

As for your side note, I don't think you can kick out more than 1 villager at a time. :(

I fell in love with his house theme, the whole DJ theme rules.

Past that, does just kicking them out using the resident services work and how long does it take? I've NEVER looked into it (despite me thinking about doing this).

Do you mean with an Amiibo card? If so I think it takes 3 days of that villager visiting the campsite before they accept the invitation to move. They will then let you pick another villager they will replace.

But you should be warned that there are a lot of glitches right now with regards to the Amiibo villagers.

No no no.

I mean as in, if I kick someone out by using Isabelle at the resident services (I seem to remember there's an option to "Discuss a resident" so I assume this means I can just have her boot them away) is it a case of I have to wait a day or two or is it immediate?

Isabelle is only able to "reset" a villager's clothing and catchphrase. Unfortunately there's no option to remove a villager.

Ah I had no idea.. So it's just a case of attacking them a lot/ignoring them?

It's random. There is a method involving Time Traveling 15 days and then scanning your village for a villager with a thought bubble deep in thought (that's when they request to move... or to give you an item). If you don't find any you move forward one day until someone asks to move. If it's not the desired villager you restart the process (but you must talk to any villager once to begin the process).
