If someone adopts one of your villagers, will it mess up the adoption if you tt before the villager has moved out? For instance, tt to the next day, so the villager is gone from your town. Etc.

It could.

It's a great risk because if the session was not ended properly when the person convinced a villager to move to their town, the person adopting will not get the villager in their town. So if you TT to the next day to move the villager out, then the villager will go to the void instead.

This is why if someone is adopting a villager, end the session and have the person TT a day forward in their game and start with a new character to find their plot in their town to ensure that it is successful. This won't screw up your game. (And if the person adopting does this, then in your game, the lights will be off in the moving villager's house with a note that says "Moved Out" and then you'll get the moving letter in the mail the following day.)

So, to be safe, after someone does adopt a villager, make sure they check to see if the moving villager shows up in their town before you decide to TT. I hope this made sense.

Yes, it does. I really don't want to mess up the adoption. So I will wait and make sure that the villager has successfully arrived in their town before I tt. Thank you very much for answering. :)

No it won't mess it up. Done it before, esp when I'm in a rush to get some out and invite someone new in :)

So if there is a note on the door saying moved out, it's safe to tt?

As soon as you guest leaves or your gates are closed after the adoption, their house will say moved out. It's safe, I've given away plenty of villagers and they moved into their towns perfectly fine.

In my opinion, yes. If you ended the session properly or if they left via train station, and the note says "moved out", they are moved out.

In fact, if something goes "wrong" and the villager did not make it to the new town, you as the person who gave the villager away can't do anything to get the villager back. At your end, the villager is gone forever.

Thank you very much. I am new to this, and don't want to mess it up, but need to get to work on my next villager.

Thanks. I did end the session properly after the guest left, and the note is on the door, so I guess I should be okay. I have seen a lot of people cycling villagers, and it didn't look like they waited until the next day. And probably not all the people who adopt are TT'ers, so it must work. If, like you said, the session is ended properly. Thanks. :)
