Hi guys! I'm thinking about where to place my campsite and I though I should ask everyone else what they think since in my other towns I always ended up not liking my campsite placement even though I thought it was a good choice at first.
Sorry about the mess, the green squares wit the dark middle are supposed to be the houses. I also don't know where to place the cafe~

Okay so I decided to use a grid and plan out my map! So I'm still a bit confused about house placement in acres, what if it's between two acres? Which one does it count to?
This is the map I made now, I wonder if all this is possible to build? Link to map. :)

Hi there!!

Villager House: No. The corner of the house would be touching the edge of the river, therefore it's not possible for a villager house to reside in the location. The only two options for that house is either moving it one row to the right or down (if nothing is obstructing those two locations).

Campsite: I like the option you have chosen, but may want to see about what other users think!

Cafe: If you don't want to have the cafe near the other major buildings like the retail or town hall, I'd think that a good spot for it would be below the river. Maybe below your house or bridge, near the coast?

As ExaLeaf said, unfortunately that spot won't work for a villager house. You need to have one full tile of space all the way around the house, so the upper left corner makes the spot invalid. I'd also like to mention that you may run into issues getting all of your villagers to plot that close together. There is an unconfirmed 3 houses per acre rule. The acres aren't marked on your map or visible in your town (you literally have to count tiles from the top right corner of your map to determine acres...each acre is a square that's 16 tiles across and 16 tiles down), but if the rule is true then even if all other criteria are met, no more than 3 villagers will plot within the same acre. Based on your image, I would guess that there are probably more than 3 houses to an acre, but can't be sure without the acres accurately counted out.

I also like the spot you've chosen for your campsite. I like that it's near the river and kind of separated from everything else.

For your cafe, I think it would be nice down near the beach cliff, on either the right or left side of the ramp. Alternatively, if you wanted to keep it on the "main" path, you could place it to the left of the train station, near where you have that house marked out.

I like putting all my villagers houses in rows, and putting the campsite in that row. Then, it's like another house when a camper visits. :)

Because I like symmetry, I'd say move the campsite to line up with the middle house in the top row. This also now allows you to decorate both sides of the campsite rather having everythin pushed to one side.

As for the caf?, I have no idea.

I agree with this! sometimes I regret pushing my campsite all the way to the side because I realised only later that there were so many PWP projects I wanted to build around it that I couldn't.

Maybe put the cafe in front of the beach where that cliff is? The house placement already seems like a little community so it would be nice to have a cafe nearby.

Thanks everyone! I guess I'll have to move the houses a bit first and hopefully everything will fit! :)

You are welcome! I hope all goes well, for you, with your choices!
Thanks again!!

Thanks again!!

My understanding is that if a house is located in multiple acres, it's the very center tile that counts which acre it officially belongs in. So a house is a 3x3 square, not counting the door space, and only the single space in the middle counts when checking for acres.

Thank you so much!! That helps a lot~
