Should I buy New Leaf?

I love New Leaf, it has more of a honey vibe that NH has.

I decided to restart my town and I'm loving it again, especially when NL had the nintendo items, it gets me outside walking lol.

I love New Leaf, still actively enjoy playing it to this day. Part of it is nostalgia and the fact I just can't bring myself to leave my og crew/town behind.

NH is great, but it has yet to overthrow the joy and fun I have with NL. If you manage to pick it up, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too :)

new leaf is really nice and cozy, so i would definitely recommend it. i think the pacing in NL is also really good, and it feels really rewarding. there's also the bonus of having all of the NPC's actually in the game too, lol. i think it's easier to play NL in a way that's a lot more casual too.

if you're interested, i would also recommend wild world - the graphics are admittedly terrible compared to the newer games (which is to be expected), but i don't think it's aged poorly at all and it's my favourite game in the entire series. i'm a bit biased because it was my first game back in 2007, but i do think it's really worth playing!

I definitely recommend New Leaf! If it weren’t for the graphics (and my poopoo 3ds) I would be playing NL way more than NH.

For me, the difference is all in the soundtrack. NL’s hourly music has so much range and diversity and it’s really pretty too. I recommend 5PM-8pm the most. I can play NL for hours and hours walking around just vibing and get a lot of therapy out of it. The vibe of the game is inherently more “forestcore“ than any NH island could dream of being.

NH is for when I’m in a more glam mood. It’s a great game, but so far Nintendo hasnt been satisfying us with the good juicy updates. New Leaf is a way more finished game than New Horizons is at this point, so definitely try New Leaf while it’s still playable

You should absolutely give it a try! It's different from NH in that it is a little more balanced. What I mean by that is: NH focuses almost exclusively on customisations. NL on the other hand is more limited in that area, but is more fleshed out in terms of dialogue, minigames, shop upgrades among other things. Basically, NH requires you to set your own goals (customising your island) whereas NL gives you more content to look forward to, which you keep playing for. Both have there pros and cons and don't cater to quite the same audience, but if you like NH, you'll probably also like NL. Oh, and in my opinion the game's atmosphere is unmatched. the music is absolutely incredible.
