5 star island then 4 star island

Yesterday i got a 5 star island rating got my golden watering can recipe then picked up a piece of furniture to move it and i wondered if that changed my rating. I went down to 4 stars even when i put it back i am on 4 stars and Isabelle has started over again with the decorating the island with more furniture thing And watering the flowers. Even this morning it is still 4 stars. Is this a glitch?

it can also fall if you have too many things lying around or "dropped" but in that case Isabelle probably would have mentioned that

Weeds shouldn’t make a difference. I never pick my weeds. I let them grow wild. Edit: and my island is 5 stars except right now because I have too many things dropped on the ground

Weeds tree branches dont count as rubbish i my island was exactly the same only i put one item in my pocket then replaced it.

Are you northern hemisphere? Pine cones and acorns if dropped can lower scores if I remember correctly.

Tbh I feel like the rating can be real fickle.
