3DS XL Help!

hi!

i bought a 3DS XL Animal Crossing New Leaf special edition 2 weeks ago, and since then i've been pretty paranoid about the back and front print fading. I don't even know if it's possible but i'd like to hear your experiences and if your 3DS print has faded over time?

Also, if that's the case, will a transparent case protect it?

My friend has had her 3DS for a long time now, and the print work hasn't rubbed off at all. If you keep it in the right conditions and don't spill anything you have to wipe off on the back, (even then I don't think it would affect it too badly)then it should be fine.
Don't scratch it either or the design might start to wear down.

They probably wouldn't make consoles with prints on them if they knew that they'd rub off quickly anyway.
You could give a protective case a try, but I don't think it's necessary unless you really know that you'll be devastated with the design coming off.

The print on my AC 3DS looks still as good as it did exactly one year ago, even after 2000+ hours of gameplay and no case.

Edit: I don't know where the op is from, but at least here in Europe the AC edition has always been available for the exact same price (219€)

i bought it from my local gamestore called 'nedgame' (limited edition is usually not very limited in the netherlands haha)

it was a "special edition" in europe, not a "limited edition" like in the US lol, which means we had a lot more units from the start i guess(?)

someone never saw the pikachu edition game boy sp...

i think there is actually a top coat over the 3ds designs. that seemed to be the case with the fire emblem one, and my pokemon special edition looks fine too.

yeah sorry i get confused between special & limited edition most of the time. i didn't expect i could just walk in one year after the release and get one though.
