Sorry if this is in the wrong spot but I'm not sure where else to put it.

So my sister got a 3ds xl for Christmas and it was working fine until around February, where we noticed part of the bottom left screen wasn't working. We had recently put on a protector screen though so we took it off and bought a new one, since the one we had was free with a 2 dollar case we got so we assumed it was just a bad protector. After putting on the new protector screen though, it still didn't work. (we did take the new protector off after this)

She decided to just live with it because she could still press around that area and move items in her new leaf inventory, or type on the wifi keyboard. It got a lot worse recently though, to the point where pressing caps, z, a, etc on her acnl keyboard wasn't an option at all, and her town tune is stuck at lavender town because she cant move the music notes. She still decided to live with it.

Until today when she was done playing pokemon, she turned her ds on sleep mode since we were in public and she still wanted to streetpass. When she went to play again though, her entire screen was froze, the thumb pad didn't work, the a/b/x/y buttons weren't working, the entire touch screen wasn't working, etc. When we got home about an hour ago she plugged it in and now the A button is working but that's it.

tl;dr, her touch screen and buttons don't work and we really don't know what to do at this point. I'm sorry if this is a really dumb noobie question or s/t. She does have it registered under club nintendo but I'm not sure if theres a warranty on it or how much it will cost/how long it will take to get it repaired.

Any help is appreciated.

(Gonna go ahead and move this to the Nintendo section of the Gamer's Lounge.)

Sending it to Nintendo is your best option, do the steps here if you haven't already. If recalibrating doesn't work, follow through with "To begin the repair process, click here." link and check the warranty. The damage might not even be covered under it, so it could cost a bunch though having the warranty will probably give you a discount. Expect two to four weeks without a 3DS if you send it in. :(
