3DS data transfer

I just did it the other day, it saved me. I really wanted to switch from my old 3DS (it's so old it's from like, the first batch of special editions they made when they had first come out. 25th anniversary zelda edition lol) to my new one, which is a NES edition XL. It transferred everything and made my life a breeze! All my streetpasses are still there and everything. Flawless and didn't actually take that long!

(I got a new one, more or less because I really felt guilty having to explain to people that I got it four years ago because I wanted a pretty 3DS, and not really because I like the Zelda series, because I don't.)

Has anyone else transferred? Did you encounter any problems?

PS: You have to admit that the NES version is a little bit cooler than the Ocarina of Time edition.

Well, my friend lost all her digital Pokemon X data when transferring from Normal 3DS to New 3DS, but mine was completely fine! It's so helpful n.n

Oh man, did you transfer a digital game or no? Maybe it's a good thing I always stick to cartridges.

Agreed.... but you can lose cartridges!

True! I haven't lost a cartridge in years though, since I keep the whole heap of them in my itty bitty carrying case. (though I'm pretty sure it's meant for DS Lites it's so old. all the cartridges explode out of it when I unzip it. Actually, it's a wonder I haven't lost any...)

i have the same 3ds but i lose anything when doing that, but after the transfer i reformatted my old ds to give to my sister and i leave acnl and i deleted my whole because i forgot to take the cartridge out smh

I never lost anything during a transfer. Moved from a Link Between Worlds 3DS XL to a New 3DS XL. Before that, I'd transferred from a normal-sized 3DS to the Link Between Worlds one.

I've never actually heard of anyone losing something until this thread.

I've done a System Transfer at least 6 times with 7 3DS systems. I went from my original Aqua Blue 3DS to Red 3DS XL, to Black 3DS XL and finally Charcoal Black New 3DS XL. For my Japanese systems, I went from original Ice White 3DS to Luigi 30th Anniversary 3DS XL to a white New 3DS with Yoshi cover plates.
And of all the times I did the transfer, I've never lost a single bit of data!

Anyone who lost data during the transfer are the ones who:

- Ran out of battery power during the process
- Didn't moved the source SD card to the target system at the right moment
- Had a Internet Connection becoming so flaky it disconnected both systems in middle of a System Transfer
