3DS console and ACNL issue....

Ok, I think you guys need to be gentle about this with me. But basically I have the special edition ACNL 3DS with ACNL preloaded on it. My DS is dying in multiple ways. It has been a bit abused, but not intentionally. I'm wondering whenever I upgrade if I wil lose my ACNL saved game? Is there any way to move it over using the SD card?

It is possible to transfer the digital copy if you use your computer as the transfer method or as a redownload through the eShop.

Is your current 3DS still in working condition? If yes, then you're in luck for transferring everything. In fact, you might as well do it anyway.

Assuming you do the System Transfer in a proper manner, ACNL's save data should be carried over as well, even if it's normally not transferable otherwise. Be sure to have a very stable Internet connection for the transfer or else a significant lag spike could potentially cause the System Transfer to fail and lose everything in the process.

I just did a system transfer and nothing was lost. My internet connection did fail after the system memory transfer and it didn't restart like it was supposed to, but it just told me to turn it off and copy the card regardless (I did the PC-based transfer), and whatever didn't work was done after I turned the new one on.
