I am debating which game I should choose to buy and I was hoping for some advice.. Which game do you guys think I should buy? Tell me some upsides to having 2nd copy of new leaf? Or if you have played Rune Factory was it good?

Runefactory! If you ever played and enjoyed harvest moon, you'll probably enjoy Runefactory. Main difference between the two games is that in RF, you battle and befriend monsters in several dungeons.

Why do you want a second copy of ACNL??

As far as Rune Factory goes, it's a great game. Like Harvest Moon but with more RPG aspects, dungeons, quests etc.
I've played number 3, but not the recent one.

I have two copies of NL and two 3ds' (didn't intend for it haha) but I LOVE it. Helped me make 100 million bells :D

I played RF4 and it's an amazing game! I don't like the characters as much as the ones from the third part, but the game mechanics are much better and the storyline is really awesome and intriguing. I can only recommend it. The start is rather poorly done, but it really picks up pace soon after and I haven't regretted spending money on it (which is a bit different for Harvest Moon - A New Beginning; Harvest Moon games tend to get really repetitive but thanks to the RPG elements, Rune Factory doesn't).

I have never played any harvest moon game so do you think it would be repetitive for me? Is it as a game repetitive or do you mean that the past games in the harvest moon series are to similiar?

Oh really, 2 copies is that good? xD

Depends what you like more, Harvest moon - Farm life, growing crops, having a family etc.
Rune Factory has all that but with RPG aspects, dungeons & monsters etc. ^_^

Both, really. At first, Harvest Moon is great fun, but once you have a bigger farm, each ingame day takes you around 10 minutes in RL time and you always have to do the same - feed your pets, brush them, milk/shear/collect eggs, talk to them all. Then you mine a bit, forage a few items, listen to the villagers say the same things over and over every day... Don't get me wrong, there IS a good plot in the game as well, but for example, I'm right now in winter of my first year and I can't advance with the plot until the fall of the second year since some crops unlock only then and I'm required to ship them to continue. And 90 ingame days take LONG, so I basically stopped playing because it was too repetitive for me. In RF, you can basically decide not to farm at all if you want, even though that's pretty stupid. But it is only one aspect of the game and hence not very time-consuming. My RF4-farming is done in 30 seconds each ingame-day. =D

Oh yeah, I should also mention that you probably should check which dateable characters appeal to you more. You don't need to date in either game, but it's a great and probably THE most fun part of both games. I personally like the boys in RF4 more than the girls and in HM:ANB it's the other way round. Note that you can somewhat genderswitch; HM:ANB lets you crossdress (you will unlock the same haircuts and clothes for both genders) while RF4 lets you switch your character sprite to every other in the game after you finished the second part of the plot, so you can switch to the sprite of the protagonist-gender you didn't choose. So basically all marriage-characters are available and you can still have your character the gender you want it to be, even if it's only seemingly so. ;)

Okay thanks guys!~ Im definitley going to get Rune factory :D maybe sometime in the near future I will get harvest moon :3
Yeah I was debating getting a 2nd copy cause I think it would take the challenge out for me :] the only thing I can think it would be good for is cycling ^^

Woah crossdressing sounds sweet ! xD lololol

Good choice! :D

And yeah, crossdressing is sweet! Since I really don't like the boys in HM:ANB, I'm playing as a boy so that I can woo one of the girls, but dressed up and pretend that I'm playing as a female at the first opportunity, lol. The tailor doesn't mind to make me dresses; in fact, she was the first girl I dated, haha. XD

Lol I reaally wish I had played the earlier games of Harvest moon as well cuz that just sounds so funny xD

Nah, this is the first game where this is possible, I believe. I played the earlier ones for DS and there you actually couldn't even switch genders. xD HM has come a long way for sure. RF4 is the first one where you can pick your gender, too. It's really nice. Believe it or not, the only other HM I really, really loved (I never played the Wii one, though, since I have no Wii) was the very first one for the SNES. That was a good game since you actually had to have skills; the game ended after two and a half years and then you got an evaluation how well you did. The HM games now are never-ending; you can literally play forever. When you finish the plot that's there, married and got a child (which will never fully grow up), you can milk cows until your console breaks, seriously.

RF does that, too, though - giving you a neverending game. But RF has always more to do thanks to the RPG elements so that you can explore dungeons and craft weapons. The optional, hardest dungeons are extremely brutal and can keep you busy for weeks even if you beat the main plot already. In RF4, you have three plots; the first two are considered main plots and the third is the optional one which takes a bit to unlock and where you get slaughtered in horrid dungeons. And if you manage it all, you can get into NG+, where you can transfer all you own but start over again and pick the other gender or just play it again with the same one you had.
