Hey, so after 4 years of playing I've finally decided to get another copy and 3DS (lots of money lost, uh oh...).

I'm stuck on deciding whether I should time travel and in which town I should. So the current town I have, was started on the 14th of June, 2017. I haven't time travelled in this town. Originally I wanted to get a new copy and time travel in that new town to help me get stuff into this 'main town' I have now.

But, there's things bugging me in this 'main' town. I don't like my character's face, and I don't like the placement of the town tree. So I'm thinking, I should just time travel in this town and when I get the new copy, make that the main town.
There's a problem though, I love my villagers in this town. I know it's easy to get them to move out and into the new town, but I'm scared of accidentally voiding one.

And this is going to sound absolutely ridiculous but time travelling gives me more incentive to stop playing or delete my town, because I have this lingering thought that I 'didn't earn it how it's supposed to be earnt'. I know it's silly but yeah, basically if I time travel I end up deleting my town soon after.

What should I do?
Tl;dr?should I time travel in my main town, or time travel in my new town? Or just don't do it at all and play naturally in both towns?

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any kind of help. :)

I have 2 towns and play naturally on both. If you're going to time travel, I'd say do it in the new town, because if you accidentally lose a villagers or something like that it'll hurt less? x)
But if you really feel like time traveling will make you delete towns, just don't! You could set one of the towns to winter and keep the other on real time summer, so the festivals and such would be different and that would keep things interesting? :)

Ok thanks! I'll probably not time travel in either or maybe in the second copy. Thanks a bunch :)

Well it depends on your play style. You already said that you may not feel like you "earned" the town if you time travel so maybe you should just stick to playing the town naturally. To me, time traveling doesn't really matter and it doesn't affect the way I feel about my game.. however, I do get a little annoyed when sequence of events aren't in "order" (like when you sit by the town tree and it says you built the emporium before T&T mart opened because of time traveling :P) so now when I time travel I make sure it's one day at a time and I'm not skipping like crazy to mess up my chronology.

I had a main town that I played for years but restarted a second cartridge to make a new town. It became a heavily time travelled town but I consider it my "main" that I play. I restarted my first game to play a new town that I don't time travel in, so I get best of both worlds! Lol

I time travel all the time, but only to not get bored. I do my daily routine and then when I feel that there's nothing else for to do anymore, I travel to the next day. To me it's no big deal, but if it feels to you like it's cheating, or that you didn't earn it, maybe it's best to not time travel at all :)

Yeah that would kinda bug me too haha!
Time travelling in one town sounds good though because then I'd get the best of both worlds. It's just which town I should do it in that's bugging me really. Small things I can't change like the town tree placement and character's face bugs me a lot.

Haha I don't think it's cheating, I just feel no accomplishment if I do it personally :)
I used to time travel like crazy in City Folk, and I found it really fun. I kinda stopped doing it to play the game in real-world time and have done that ever since and I normally do just delete the town after a few weeks if I start time travelling.

I might just do it in my old copy of the game if I manage to find the perfect town layout in the new copy.

Thanks much for the input :D
