2DS question?

Hi, is the 2DS pretty similar to the 3DS? Does the 2DS have friend codes that can be swapped with 3DS players? I found one pretty cheap and was wondering if I could play acnl on it normally and still be able to add new friends. Hopefully this is the right place to ask?

Well...
The 2DS is basically the same as the 3DS. Yeah, you can add friends and play on the internet and stuff. However... being a model made specifically to be for those who are looking for cheaper alternatives, it has its drawbacks.

1. It is the only system in the 3DS family that can't use the 3D function, nor does it have a lid you can flip shut.
2. Its buttons break much easier than the other models. However, if you're just using it for Animal Crossing, I don't think you have to worry?
3. Since it doesn't come in New, the Internet connectivity is worse than N3DS and N3DSXL.
4. It also doesn't come in XL, but I don't think that should bother most...?

But honestly, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you're short on cash but desperately want to play a 3DS game that doesn't require button smashing *cough SSB4 cough* then go for it!
