Yo , use the ignore method , talk to him once , and TT one day at a time , talk to all the villagers except him . he would move out at least a week or less c: worked for me on many villagers xD

Does it matter what day I talk to them, or does it have to be the day they move in? I have this pig in my town I have done this to and it's been a month in game time and she STILL won't leave haha

Well , it does matter what day you talk to them because once you "accidentally" talk to that villager , you moved the villager to the "Friend Ladder" but if you ignore them , the game automatically thinks that you don't want that villager so that villager moves to the "Trash Bin" , so make sure you don't talk to them and only talk to the villagers you are keeping . Also , keep in mind that if they ping you but says that they'll stay just because you can be better friends , quickly close the game , DO NOT save the game ! just close it , if they ping you again , don't talk to them , since you know the date .
