16 Villager Cycle Help!!

Hey!

I?ve always been confused about the 16 villager cycle so I wanted to clarify before regretting a possibly large decision to restart my town.
I know the 16 villager cycle works for villagers you?ve had in your current town, but does it apply if you delete & restart your town?
For example, if i delete & restart my current town, and give up all of my current villagers, would that villager cycle carry on to my other town? I don?t want to lose Erik, he?s my all time favorite villager. But if I restart my town, would that mean that I?d have to complete a 16 villager cycle in my new town before being able to get Erik again?

In simple words, does your 16 villager cycle carry on to new towns if you delete & restart your current town?
Any help is super appreciated!

You do lose all your villagers and get a random four or five of them when you move in. That being said, you can delete and start over until you have Erik, but that could take time. Another solution would be TT. Hope this was helpful!​

Erik actually just moved into my town yesterday, I can let you know when he moves. It might just be better to buy him off of someone who already has him in boxes.​

No, the villager cycle doesn't carry over to a restarted town, you could ask someone to hold Eric while you reset if you get him into boxes before you start over.
