Saw the first episode and didn't really get my attention. Probably because I'm not into anime at all.

I really like Tokyo Ghoul. The second season wasn't as great as the first, but still worth watching. Give it time though. It'll become popular to the point people will start hating it because they're not "special" for watching it anymore. It's a pattern that's been appearing lately.

I was considering watching the second season to see if it got better because I found the first season somewhat boring. Mostly the dialogue and story. I really like the characters though.

Yeah, you either like it or don't I guess. I wouldn't watch the second season if you didn't like the first. They hinted at the very end of season two with a Tokyo Ghoul Re sign so there's probably going to be a season for that. I'm not sure how good it's going to be since they made an original ending for season two.

Nah, the anime sucks.
The manga, however, is absolutely amazing. One of my favorites!

The first season was a decent watch, even though the pacing was all over the place. The second season though...

The anime was awesome, but I started reading the manga before watching it. The first season was straight up amazing cx The second season could have done a lot better though, especially the ending. Barely anything happened in the second season drama related, and Kaneki barely shows up. And the ending consisted of just Kaneki walking with Hide in his arms. It's fair to say that the scene in the anime was tear jerking, but they were seriously walking for like two to three minutes and it just killed the "dramatic" moment. I didn't wait a week for the last episode just to watch Kaneki walking ._. the so called cliff hanger wasn't that interesting either in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, the anime itself was amazing as well as the manga, but the second season was just unappealing compared to the first season, as well as the opening

The anime (first season was okay) but I didn't bother after the first episode of the second season. You could already tell they ruined everything with that one decision. And after seeing spoilers, I definitely made the right choice.

Anyway, I still believe the manga is better and it's not even due to the fact that I read it first. Because I didn't. I read it after I had already watched a lot of season 1 and unsurprisingly so, they managed to tell the story a lot better in the manga, given that the anime condensed like a million chapters into 12? episodes. RE is a different story. I'll just give a rating of "okay" as well because I think the mangaka added too many characters. I'm the type of person that really needs to feel some sort of connection/liking for the characters to enjoy the story, and it's not happening with RE. The latest chapter was promising because of that ending though.

I tried the first episode and I lost interest. There was a battle going on and I didn't know who was what or what they were doing. It annoys me when anime puts you in media res right at the beginning.

Honestly, I like Tokyo Ghoul. But as the storyline peaked into the second season, I got completely lost. Sure that every single episode gets me on the edge of my seat because of the upcoming cliffhanger that they always leave you for a week; but first season > second season

I absolutely adore Tokyo ghoul, it's my favorite anime and manga and just.... everything about it is beautiful and lovely and I can't get enough of the drama and storyline and characters. <3

I love the designs of the characters are well, Suzuya Juuzou is my favourite character of all time.. not only from Tokyo Ghoul, but from any anime in general, his design just appeals to me, being a stitched up patchwork albino doll of preciousness and psychopathy~ <3

On the other hand I also think Kaneki's design, Tsukiyama's design, and a few other character designs in Tokyo Ghoul are really amazing and please my aesthetic. (I mean, Tsukiyama's outfits are amazing and match so well, it's just really pleasing to my eyes.)

I think what really hooked to me to Tokyo ghoul was the Caf? though, I like how all the characters interact and how it starts off as everyone just working at a simple caf?, brewing coffee and relaxing. <3 mind you, even after things turned haywire, they still were able to relax somehow even while struggling to exist, and I like how fatherly the manager was to Kaneki ken.

I could keep ranting but I just wanna say, I LOVE Tokyo ghoul, it's amazing. <3

I disagree with your first statement.

I liked the first season. The premise is cool, there was a good mix of action and story/drama. It's a little heavy on the chatter, but I'm alright with it since I find the interactions interesting for the most part. I haven't seen the second season. I didn't even know there was a second season out. D=
