I absolutely love the concept. As both a vtuber on hiatus and a Live2D modeler, it has given me a new fun path to content creation. The amount of lewdness around it isn't my cup of tea though.

I'm currently reorganizing my island I can have a nice garden space next to my house! Also since I haven't played in a year I need to clear the weed and flower explosion.

I'll mostly be using dream suite to visit others' islands. I won't put up a code until my island is considered neatly themed or almost finished.

I guess with the holidays being much longer than one day that is the way they compromise people maybe not having wifi for a little bit..? But yeah I agree if someone has no wifi to begin with I wonder how this would even play out... Also I'm concerned about the future when Nintendo won't do...

Green! It's not my favorite color but it is a doable one that like you said, blends in well during the Spring and Summer. I would love a blue one but since this is my first game I wanted to leave this kind of stuff to RNGesus.

I don't enjoy having to do custom designs in game with no touchscreen. Drawing with joysticks is a pain and so difficult. Party Play is needlessly limiting with the whole leader/follower roles and restrictions.
