Keep in mind that you don't have to do a thing with your island. If you don't have the patience to fully decorate it, don't do it. However, I will encourage that you try to do some things here and there. You might surprise yourself.

How far into the game are you and what are you unhappy with?

I love Dobie and Fang! I have Fang in New Leaf and Dobie was my second pick for cranky villager but I went with Octavian instead. Having to cycle through 16 villagers in NL in order to get someone back was awful. I understand why they did it but it was just so many villagers to go through...

They're all fantastic but I voted for Octavian because he needs some more love and he's the only one out of the three that I decided to keep on my island. I had them all at once and felt it was too many octopi. His facial expression and head bandage are what makes him so appealing.

I took down the Celeste items that I had set up for a space exhibit and replaced them with the Mario items. I was never 100% happy with that area and I am feeling much better about it now. I wish we could rent out a room in the museum so that the items don't just go to waste sitting in storage.
