When I was playing around a hacked save lately I found that if you do end up in the water somehow (glitch or hack) you can swim without a swimsuit, however once you get out of the water you can't get back in. Interesting how you triggered it without a wet suit!

Marc Robledo's save editor is available online and has an option in the "others" tab, under PWPs, to unlock Dream Suite. If your emulator supports the same format for saves as the actual 3ds, which is what that save editor uses, then this may be a convenient way to do it.
