Here's a few tips on how to socialize:
1) Just because you find something rude or "not proper etiquette" doesn't mean you need to comment, especially if it has nothing to do with you
2) I'm all for free speech and free sharing of opinions, but only when it's needed. If your comment adds nothing and is only there to insult someone or call them out, then don't.
3) If you're going to apologize, make it sincere. Adding a "but" to the end or some snarky comment just makes people angrier. If you don't need it or it's sarcastic, why bother?
