I haven't read anything official on it being fixed, but based on some other threads here it seems to have been resolved. I'd still be somewhat cautious.

Ah, that's good to know. I can't believe it hasn't been patched yet.

Is there any word on when the next patch will be? I looked around online for a possible patch forecast but couldn't find anything. I think I'm just gonna wait until that comes to resume playing.

I’ve been on the fence about getting one. A part of me loves the island hunt, as bleak as it can be haha.

You can also grab a Powersaves Amiibo unit which you can write .bin files to. It comes with a small puck that you can scan to upload whatever village you want to it, then you can use the puck as if it’s an amiibo card. Really good way to get around how expensive some of the cards are.
