It doesn't seem to be limited, the player goes to a normal crafting bench in their town to craft it, and it looks like they can craft more than the three needed for the item they chose.

I was waiting on the next AC game to get an NS2, so actually, the update makes it less likely I'll get one in the near future - I mainly want an AC-themed one if they release it, but I honestly didn't love NH enough to get a new console themed after an old game, even if the game is getting updates.

It's not mentioned explicitly, it's shown during the part about crafting items to ship out through Kapp'n. When the player goes to craft the items, they can choose a number of items to craft.

It seems they just lead to the rooms, to me. You can see at the very end of the trailer that you can go into the rooms, and interact with the villagers staying there.

Going by the menu above, it looks like there are also special rooms, although maybe those are just for NPCs like Label.

Any DIYs at all, including DIYs from sources other than villagers, I believe. Some of the recipes require 200 known DIYs to unlock, according to the companion guide (v1.0, though), and with "only" 924 recipes total, it definitely couldn't be just from a single personality type or villager.

TIL the star fragment island is also a seasonal island, with June/December critters. I've been trying to get tiger prawns to finish the recipes that need them (the seafood ajillo is evil), so not only was I able to do that, I got star fragments out of it, too.
