They all mirror each others' behaviors, so it's down to appearances. Since you're asking, it's giving everyone an opportunity to post their favorites. Since I call 'cranky" villagers "grouchos" you can probably guess who I will recommend, but there are a lot of well-designed grouchos.

Some people like how novel she is; she stands out as a female rhino who is actually visually tolerable. I don't know if you can be convinced to find her appealing. Every town has a maximum of 10 slots; use them wisely.
