Homages and Parodies are really similar. They both take an original peice of art and put a small spin to it. also, the story is clearly a parody of Zelda's.

Well, they feature similar music, most songs feature similar themes, sometimes even referencing the original artist's other works, too. Kinda like how this game has similar graphics, themes, and references to other Nes games.
