Cataloging means you pick up the item so it's in your inventory, then drop it. Do this with each item you want. You're not actually TAKING my items, you're just adding them to your own catalog so you can order them back home at your town (provided your Nook shop has upgraded at least once).

You can catalog all of those items for 99k, kind of a deal I guess, since it's way more items than would be in one complete set.
